NORALA, South Cotabato โ The Norala District Hospital (NDH) successfully held its World AIDS Day Run for a Cause early this morning, bringing together hospital personnel, community members, and local advocates in a united effort to strengthen HIV awareness and promote a compassionate, informed society.
Anchored on the 2025 global theme, โOvercoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response,โ this yearโs observance underscores the vital need to revitalize prevention programs, restore continuity of care, and reinforce public awareness after several years of global health challenges and service disruptions.
The advocacy run served as a symbolic stride toward these goals. Participants completed the route with banners and colors representing solidarity, hope, and the collective call to break stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS. The event highlighted key advocacy messages: Awareness and early testing save lives; Stigma remains a major barrier to care and must be eliminated; Communities play a central role in transforming the HIV response and ensuring no one is left behind; and, Strengthened partnerships can help rebuild a more resilient, inclusive response to HIV.
Dr. Mila G. Quinton, MHcA, Chief of Hospital I, commended the participants and emphasized NDHโs commitment to sustained health advocacy.
The activity concluded with a brief program and a solidarity photo session to honor those affected by HIV/AIDS and to reaffirm the hospitalโs unwavering commitment to public health promotion.
Through this yearโs Run for a Cause, NDH reinforces its pledge to continue educating communities, supporting patients, and advocating for a stigma-free, empowered, and health-conscious society.
