❓How Do You Study❓

People unconsciously develop different habits when studying, it can be created during frequent study routines or be picked up and copied from a study buddy. Some habits lean more positively while others not so much. Bad study habits include cramming assessments and focusing on too many tasks at once, without ever noticing, some never address it and go on with their day to day lives. Studying could become one of the scariest and hardest tasks for a person if their bad study habits are not dealt with. The first step in addressing these habits is to be aware and establish a better study routine.

A better routine will greatly improve your view on studying and may reflect on your exams, quizzes or activities. Establishing one early could benefit you in the long run and help you study proficiently. You can experiment and try different routines to know which one helps you the most!

SEPTEMBER FEATURE: SAVING TIPS 😍

💸Money Comes and Goes ….

We all wish to be rich someday, living a comfortable life with no financial worries and it’s either a long path or a very short path to achieving it depending on how we manage our money today.

There’s no denying that many of us have experienced running out of cash and getting into dreadful situations due to it.

Besides the allowance we receive from our guardians or parent/s, we scholars also receive monthly stipends that we can use to avail our daily needs and wants. It is essential in our daily lives, and it is not wrong to use it for luxury but we should think more deeply on what we should use it for.

🪙 To make your stipend last these are some tips to consider:

GETTING THROUGH SCHOOL

Need some tips on getting through school this year?

The GCU’s got you covered!

This is the last installment of our 3-part series on back-to-school happenings. With the entire school year ahead of us, it’s important to get all the help we can to get through it. From the graduating batch to the incoming G7s, here are some tips on getting through school!

1. Write about everything. If you're having a hard time getting the lessons, it might be a good idea to try writing them down as if you're teaching someone. This is an adaptation of something called the "Feynman Technique."

2. Study with friends. Spending time with your friends can be made productive by using that time to study. You can use the time to ask questions, talk about topics that confuse you, and even help other people learn!

3. Find time to enjoy studying. Studying doesn't have to stop you from having fun. If you can use things you enjoy like games or art to make learning more interesting, doing that just might help you be more interested in the topics at hand.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Need some tips on back-to-school happenings?

The GCU’s got you covered!

Now that classes are starting, it won’t be easy getting the flow of school life down on the first try. It’s easy to get confused about things, especially for some of our younger scholars.

Here are some tips to put you on the right track from the first week!

1. READ. every. single. thing. The course syllabus for each subject, consultation schedules, and other important information should be read at the earliest opportunity. This can mean the difference between being prepared and being caught off-guard.

2. TALK to everyone. Greeting people in the hallways, be it older scholars, lower years, teachers, and especially the hardworking utility staff, is a surefire way to make friends. High school is full of sticky situations - having the right people on your side just might be your ace!

3. LISTEN to announcements. The beginning of the school year is time for lots of announcements. This can range from schedules, to schedule changes, and even events or activities you can enjoy! Be sure to follow the right channels and pages to get your school info fix.

Need some tips on back-to-school prep?

The GCU’s got you covered!

Preparing to go back to school can be a daunting task especially after a month or two of not thinking much about it at all. Because of that, it’s not exactly impossible to mess up your prep and forget some things.

Here are some tips to help you prep for the school year!

RECYCLE unused stationery. Let's be honest - not all of us filled the notebooks we bought for the previous school year. Use empty notebooks and untouched supplies to save on snack money - and save the planet, too!

ASK all the questions. When it comes to prepping for school, it's not a bad idea to use it as a socialization opportunity and ask around. You can make new friends, and prepare better too!

PREP by bringing needs. This doesn't mean you have to bring an air fryer, or the family dog. When packing for school, pay attention to the essentials. Some commonly forgotten ones include:
*An umbrella
*Chargers
*Hangers
*Toiletries
*Food container + utensils
*Important documents
*Allergy medication
*Snacks
