*Celebrating 47th National Disability Rights Week: innovation for inclusion: building inclusive communities together.
The Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) recently celebrated the National Disability Rights Week with a meaningful event attended by key stakeholders and leaders. Municipal Mayor Engr. Roger Q. Fodra who expressed his full support to the sector of PWD and said " Ang mga PWD ay hindi dapat kinakaawaan kundi dapat tinutulungan na maging productive sa buhay at ma enjoy ang kanilang karapatan", Representative of Gov. Trina Alejandra Q. Firmalo-Fabic, Ex SBM Rolando "Tatay Doc" Forca, who still support the PDAO activities and other PWD related activities, and guest speaker Vice Mayor Michael "Butchoy" Arevalo, who PWDs is very close to his heart because he is a graduate of Physical Therapy and mentioned some PWD laws along with Sangguniang Bayan members Hon. Juvy F. Faderogaya, Hon. Jack M. Fernandez, and Hon. Joel F. Falogme, graced the occasion.
The event brought together PWD members from various barangays, as well as leaders and representatives from different agencies. A highlight of the celebration was the sensitivity activities, where guests were given the opportunity to experience life as a person with disability, including being blind, deaf, or having mobility challenges.
This event served as a reminder of the importance of inclusion and accessibility for persons with disabilities. Through this celebration, the PDAO reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the rights and welfare of PWDs in the community.
