Mercy In Action - Imago Dei Health and Birth Center

Mercy In Action - Imago Dei Health and Birth Center “Everyone is created in God’s image, shining with divine worth. Imago Dei Health and Birth Ministries Inc.

In maternal healthcare, we honor this truth by uplifting every mother and baby with love, respect, and care—because every birth is a powerful miracle deserving of deepest honor.” is a non-profit organization located at Unit JCG Building, #65 Rizal Avenue, New Banicain, Olongapo City - Zambales, Philippines. We are sponsored by Mercy In Action, an NGO with a long history of providing compassionate and comprehensive maternal and child health services free of charge to the citizens of Olongapo City and the surrounding areas. The name Imago Dei comes from the Latin phrase meaning "Image of God," a concept deeply rooted in Scripture, specifically in the book of Genesis. This biblical truth reflects the belief that every human being is created in God’s image, possessing inherent dignity, worth, and purpose. The name was chosen to emphasize the ministry’s mission—to honor and uphold the sanctity of life by providing compassionate and holistic care to mothers, babies, and families. It serves as a reminder that each life is precious, divinely designed, and deserving of love and care, just as God intended from the very beginning. Our purpose is to honor the inherent worth of every individual by extending God's love through the provision of healthcare, health education, and maternal and child health services to all members of society. We believe that every person deserves access to compassionate and respectful healthcare, regardless of their background or social status. Our aim is to ensure that every individual receives the support they need during pregnancy, childbirth, and the first 1,000 days of a child’s life. Our vision is a world where every pregnant woman is treated the same as the richest pregnant woman. We dream of creating a future where every baby born has an equal opportunities for health and well-being, and where every individual receives the care and support they deserve from the very beginning of life. Our mission is to uphold the sanctity of life by delivering inclusive maternity healthcare services that cater to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of women and children. We strive to empower individuals and communities to view pregnancy and childbirth as inherently natural and beautiful experiences, deserving of utmost dignity and respect. Despite geographical, economic, and other barriers to health and maternity services, we are committed to extending our reach and collaborating with local healthcare providers, government and private hospitals, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure that women and families have access to comprehensive and coordinated care that best meets their individual needs. Last September 5 and 6, we had the privilege of joining the Medical Mission in Sitio Iram. This meaningful effort was organized by Greenhills Christian Fellowship in partnership with Subic Bay Community of Faith with the support of several local churches in the area. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to be part of this meaningful event.

The venue offered a wide range of medical services, and we were entrusted with a special space dedicated to prenatal care. There, we were able to provide essential vitamins, offer free check-ups, share words of encouragement, and, most importantly, spend time in prayer with the mothers. The experience was a beautiful reminder that when physical care and spiritual support come together, they bring lasting hope, comfort, and strength to those we serve.

We recently had a speaker who shared a very insightful teaching on Active Listening, and he emphasized that the ultimate goal of listening well is not just better communication, but maturity (telios) in Christ.
He explained that true active listening involves three key aspects: empathy, warmth, and respect. Empathy means coming alongside someone in their struggles, feeling with them rather than simply giving quick advice. Warmth is communicating care through our tone, posture, and presence—it’s letting the other person know they are safe and valued.Respect
is not earned; it is a gift. This truth is grounded in Genesis 1:27, which tells us that every person is created in the image of God. Because of this, each person is worthy of respect—not because of what they have done or who they are in the world’s eyes, but because they reflect God’s image.
In short, active listening is more than a skill—it is a spiritual practice that reflects Christ’s heart. It helps us grow in maturity, and it helps others experience the love, empathy, and respect that flow from God Himself.
