Rabies ay 100% nakamamatay kapag lumabas na ang sintomas. Kaya’t mahalagang maagapan agad.

Bakit sila mahalaga?
1. Agarang proteksyon – Gumagana agad habang hinihintay pa ng katawan ang bisa ng anti-rabies vaccine.
2. Neutralizer – Pinapatay nila ang virus na maaaring nasa sugat o paligid nito.
3. Pang-severe bites (Category III) – Para sa malalim na kagat, sugat sa ulo, leeg, kamay, o kung bata ang nakagat.
4. Mas mataas ang survival rate – Kapag may ERIG/HRIG + bakuna, halos zero ang tsansa na magkaroon ng rabies.

Tandaan
• Bakuna lang ay hindi sapat para sa Category III bites.
• Bakuna + ERIG/HRIG = Kumpletong proteksyon laban sa rabies.
