𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 (𝐔𝐇𝐂)

The Asian Pharmacy Summit on Universal Health Care (UHC), organized by the Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA) and hosted by the Philippine Pharmacists Association (PPhA), will be held on October 25, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the SEDA Vertis North Hotel, Quezon City, Philippines. This landmark event will gather Asian pharmacy leaders, experts, and UHC advocates to discuss strategies for integrating and engaging pharmacists in advancing Universal Health Care. The summit will highlight the vital role of pharmacists in UHC through insights from government, health insurance, and professional leaders, and will showcase keynote presentations highlighting the evolving role of pharmacists in health systems, including experiences from Taiwan and the Philippines.

It will also introduce FAPA’s UHC initiatives, including the Pharmacy UHC Services Menu, Health System Development Strategies, and the UHC Tool Kit, while engaging participants in workshops and breakout sessions to refine recommendations for pharmacist participation in UHC. By fostering collaboration among pharmacy leaders, government agencies, academic institutions, health professionals, and international organizations, the summit aims to strengthen the collective impact of pharmacists in achieving equitable and sustainable health for all.

Empowering Pharmacists in Diabetes Management: A Workshop on Patient-Centered Care and Intervention program aims to equip pharmacists with the knowledge and skills to optimize diabetes management through patient-centered care. Participants will explore strategies for medication therapy management, lifestyle counseling, and patient education to improve adherence and health outcomes. Also, this covers interprofessional collaboration and the use of point-of-care testing for early detection and intervention. By virtue of Resolution No. 192, Series of 2025, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Baguio City has officially declared April 23 to 26, 2025 as “Pharmacists Week” in the City of Baguio.

This declaration is in recognition of the 2025 Philippine Pharmacists Association (PPhA), Inc. National Convention, which will be held in the city under the theme:
“Pharmacists for a Unified and Sustainable Healthcare.”

We express our deepest gratitude to the City Government of Baguio, particularly the Honorable Members of the City Council, for their unwavering support of the pharmacy profession.
