Chronic Kidney Disease is among the leading cause of mortality in the Philippines with common morbidities such as Diabetes and Hypertension.
In the past few years, Eastern Visayas noted an increased demand of patient with CKD that needs Renal Replacement Therapy, the demand is overwhelming that some HD facility can no longer cater new cases. To address this demand, GBTRGHSC exerted all efforts to fulfill its commitment of providing a zero balance billing, accessible and quality healthcare services.
The Inauguration and Blessing of the Hemodialysis Unit of GBTRGHSC was held last January 29, 2026 and was spearheaded by our Secretary of Health Dr. Teodoro Herbosa, together with our Regional Director Dr. Exuperia Sabalberino, Assistant Regional Director Dr. Catherine Layon-Miral and our Medical Center Chief Dr. Lyn L. Verona.
The Hemodialysis Unit of GBTRGHSC is a 10-station facility that caters to the Hemodialysis needs of our CKD warriors. It is armed with trained and experienced team whose competence in management of Hemodialysis patients is outstanding.
The fulfillment of this additional service is an evidence that GBTRGHSC will continue its goal in providing quality healthcare services to the People of Region 8.
