Bilang bahagi ng patuloy na pagsisikap ng DOH na masunod ang mandato ng Pangulong Marcos na palawakin ang access ng de-kalidad at mapagkalingang serbisyong pangkalusugan, pinangunahan ni Secretary Ted Herbosa ang pagbubukas ng dialysis center ng Gov. Benjamin T. Romualdez General Hospital and Schistosomiasis Center (GBTRGHSH) sa Palo, Leyte.

Ang dialysis center ay makakatulong sa mga pasyenteng may sakit sa bato, partikular ang mga serbisyong:

โœ… Single Pump Dialysis;
โœ… Sustained Low-Efficiency Dialysis (SLED); at
โœ… Hemodialysis

DOH, PINALAKAS ANG HEMODIALYSIS SERVICES SA EASTERN VISAYAS; BAGONG DIALYSIS UNIT SA GBTRGH SCHISTOSOMIASIS CENTER SA PALO LEYTE, BINUKSAN

Bilang tugon sa tumataas na bilang ng mga kaso ng Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) at Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) sa rehiyon, higit pang pinalakas ng Department of Health (DOH) ang serbisyo ng hemodialysis sa Governor Benjamin T. Romualdez General Hospital and Schistosomiasis Center (GBTRGHSC).

Pinangunahan ni Secretary of Health, Teodoro Ted Herbosa, katuwang si Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-EV CHD) Regional Director Dr. Exuperia B. Sabalberino, at GBTRGHSC Hospital Chief, Dr. Lyn Verona ang inauguration o pormal na pagbubukas ng GBTRGHSCโ€“ Dialysis Unit, kabilang ang labing-dalawang (20) bagong hemodialysis equipment packages kahapon, ika-29 ng Enero 2026.

Kasama rin sa aktibidad na ito sina Assistant Regional Director Dr. Catherine Layon-Miral, Health Promotion Bureau โ€“ including Media Relations and Communications Office Director IV Ms. Maria Kristina May L. Marasigan, Dr. Shena Jo A. Capucion-Quebec, at Eastern Visayas Medical Center Chief Dr. Joseph Michael A. Jaro. Layunin ng bagong unit na ito na bawasan ang pasanin ng mga pasyente partikular na ang mga lokal na residente ng Palo, Leyte, malalayong barangay, at mga kalapit na munisipalidad.

Sa tulong ng DOH at EVCHD, hindi na kakailanganin ng mga pasyente na magpunta pa sa malalayong pasilidad at gumastos ng malaki para sa kanilang regular na gamutan.
