National Autism Consciousness Week in the Philippines:
The Parañaque City Government together with the Parañaque City Center for Children with Special Needs (CSN Center Parañaque), proudly joins the nation in celebrating inclusion and championing the rights of persons with autism!
Government duty-bearers and civil society advocates unite with the nation to mark the 30th National Autism Consciousness Week, January 19-25, 2026. Thanks to President Fidel Ramos' Proclamation 711 in 1996, this annual event builds true acceptance, accommodation, and appreciation for autistic individuals in our society and beyond. Activities from public and private sectors aim to empower those on the autism spectrum to live with dignity, access equal rights, achieve independence, and contribute meaningfully.
Let's move past mere awareness to real inclusion—through heartfelt acceptance, thoughtful accommodations, and genuine appreciation! All institutions are urged to lead innovative events, programs, and initiatives that create opportunities for our neurodiverse community across the country.
This Year's Theme: “Mula Kamalayan Tungo sa Gawa: Pag-unlad ng Autism-OK Philippines”
(From Awareness to Action: Developing an Autism-OK Philippines)
This theme urges us to transform understanding into tangible steps, making schools, workplaces, communities, and public spaces more inclusive, accessible, and supportive. It stresses collective responsibility—among government, families, institutions, and citizens—to help autistic Filipinos thrive, participate fully, and live with pride by fostering empathy, removing barriers, and promoting accessibility.
