In full support of the BARMMAA Meet 2026, the Rural Health Unit of Parang, under the leadership of Dr. Datu Abdul Rahman T. Biruar, MPH - Municipal Health Officer, proudly deployed dedicated medical teams to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all athletes, coaches, and delegates as the Municipality of Parang, Maguindanao del Norte serves as the host.

Medical personnel composed of doctors, nurses, midwives, and emergency responders are strategically stationed across event venues to provide:

✔️ Emergency response and first aid
✔️ Health monitoring and referral services

This initiative underscores RHU Parang’s commitment to delivering responsive and quality healthcare services, especially during large-scale events that bring together communities across the region.

In celebration of World TB Day, the Rural Health Unit of Parang proudly recognized individuals who successfully completed the Tuberculosis (TB) Treatment Program. These individuals stand as living proof that TB is curable when patients strictly adhere to the prescribed treatment regimen. Their commitment, discipline, and resilience make them true champions in the fight against TB.

This year’s celebration highlights the critical importance of strict and continuous adherence to TB treatment. Completing the full course of medication not only ensures complete recovery but also prevents complications, relapse, and the spread of infection within the community. RHU Parang strongly encourages all patients to follow medical advice, attend regular check-ups, and remain committed until treatment is fully completed.

The program also emphasized that TB services are free and accessible to all, removing barriers to care and encouraging early consultation. Proper nutrition was likewise underscored as an essential component of recovery, helping strengthen the body during and after treatment.

As a gesture of appreciation and support, all participants received a bag of rice generously provided by Member of the Parliament, Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Ibay, whose continued advocacy greatly contributes to the success of TB programs in the community.

RHU Parang reminds everyone: TB is preventable and curable. Early detection and strict adherence to treatment save lives.

In a unified effort to intensify the campaign for Peace and Order, Anti-Drug Abuse, and Counter-Terrorism, the Local Government Unit of Parang, through the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) in coordination with the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) and the Peace and Security Council, successfully conducted an 𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘿𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙄𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙡 Drugs at Brgy. Litayen, Parang, Maguindanao del Norte.

This initiative was led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Cahar P. Ibay, together with the Sangguniang Bayan Officials, Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs), Members of Parliament—Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Ibay and Hon. Suaib Oranon—and various line agencies, demonstrating a strong and united stand against the threats of illegal drugs in the community.

The activity aimed to raise awareness on the current illegal drug situation in Parang, presented by PDEA-BARMM, while also highlighting its severe health, social, and psychological consequences through discussions led by RHU Parang and partner agencies.

The Rural Health Unit of Parang, headed by Dr. Datu Abdulrahman T. Biruar, firmly reinforces its commitment to public health by actively educating communities on the dangers of illegal drug use. RHU Parang continues to advocate that illegal drugs not only destroy lives but also severely damage physical and mental health, disrupt families, and hinder community development.

Through continuous information dissemination, RHU Parang stands at the forefront in empowering individuals with knowledge—emphasizing that prevention starts with awareness, and that every community member plays a vital role in building a drug-free, healthy, and safe Parang.

04.07.2026 | Buntis Congress

The Barangay Health Station (BHS) of Manion, in collaboration with BLGU Manion, successfully conducted a Buntis Congress aimed at educating and empowering pregnant mothers in the community. This program provided a valuable platform for expectant mothers to gain knowledge, build confidence, and better understand their journey toward safe and healthy motherhood.

The Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Parang served as resource speakers, delivering essential discussions on the First 1,000 Days of Life and the Safe Motherhood Program. These topics are crucial in ensuring the health and well-being of both mother and child, as they highlight the importance of proper nutrition, regular prenatal care, and informed decision-making during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

In addition to health education, free laboratory services were provided, including Hemoglobin testing, Random Blood Sugar (RBS), Syphilis screening, and HIV testing. These diagnostic services play a vital role in the early detection and prevention of potential health risks, allowing timely interventions that can significantly improve pregnancy outcomes and safeguard the lives of both mother and baby.

This initiative demonstrates the strong commitment of RHU Parang and BLGU Manion in delivering accessible, quality, and patient-centered healthcare services. It reflects their shared dedication to promoting maternal health, preventing complications, and ensuring that every pregnant mother receives the care, support, and knowledge she needs—ultimately advancing the goal of health for all.

The Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Parang warmly welcomed the World Health Organization (WHO), the Department of Health (DOH) Central Office, JHPIEGO, and the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) of Maguindanao for a joint case investigation on the increasing number of measles cases in the locality.

During the visit, RHU Parang presented the current status of measles cases, vaccination coverage, and MRSIA accomplishments. Key discussions focused on identified gaps and challenges, as well as strategic actions to further strengthen prevention and response efforts.

Measles is a highly contagious disease that can lead to serious complications, especially among children. Its continued spread is a public health concern that requires urgent and collective action. Vaccination remains the most effective protection—parents and guardians are strongly urged to ensure that their children are fully immunized.

RHU Parang, in collaboration with partner agencies, reaffirms its commitment to intensifying active case finding, ensuring prompt reporting, and strengthening surveillance systems. Ongoing efforts also include expanding vaccination campaigns and increasing community awareness to prevent further transmission.

The Rural Health Unit of Parang, in partnership with STI College and the Local Government of Poblacion I, successfully conducted a Community Assembly at Sitio Tent to strengthen awareness and action against Dengue Fever.

This initiative highlighted the importance of knowing the signs and symptoms, practicing preventive measures, and seeking early treatment. More importantly, it emphasized that dengue prevention is a shared responsibility.

The Rural Health Unit of Parang successfully conducted a Care and Wellness for All activity for the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at BJMP Parang District Jail, in partnership with STI College of Cotabato and BJMP Parang District Jail.
The initiative provided essential health services including general consultation, provision of basic medicines, Akapulco distribution, random blood sugar monitoring, HIV testing, and urine dipstick testing.
This activity reflects a strong commitment to inclusive healthcare—ensuring that quality health services reach everyone, including those within correctional facilities.
Through this effort, the team continues to uphold the principle that healthcare is a right for all, leaving no one behind.
