Parang District Hospital, in collaboration with the Local Health Insurance Office - Sulu, LGU Parang, and Ministry of Social Services and Development, will hold a Philhealth YAKAP Caravan this coming October 28, 2025 at the Parang District Hospital Compound.

This event will serve as a one-stop shop for Philhealth registration and updating, and medical consultation services for out-patients.

📢 PUBLIC CLARIFICATION

The management of Parang District Hospital (PDH) issues this clarification regarding the recent post about our call for “volunteer nurses.”

We acknowledge that it was an oversight on the part of PDH to use the term “volunteer” in the said post. Our intention was never to recruit nurses who would render services without pay.

Furthermore, this statement reaffirms that PDH strictly complies with the Department of Health (DOH) Memorandum Order directing all DOH hospitals and facilities to discontinue any programs involving nurses who render free services in exchange for work experience (commonly referred to as “volunteer nurse” programs).

We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding our earlier post may have caused. The PDH management remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding fair labor practices and ensuring that all healthcare professionals are fairly compensated and respected for their valuable service to the community.

The Parang District Hospital, under the leadership of our Chief of Hospital, Dr. Jubaira Aharuddin Isnain, MHA, is a proud recipient of the PhilHealth RAWATEN 2025 Award, and is also recognized as a Health Facility with 100% No Co-Payment — for providing services which are fully covered by the hospital and no out of pocket fees collected from the patients.

PDH, represented by Dr. Al-Ameen M. Hadjiula and Ma’am Gemma A. Malali, RMT, received the award today at LM Metro Hotel, Zamboanga City.

We would also like to congratulate the RHU Parang, under the leadership of our Municipal Health Officer Dr. Yasmin A. Abdurajan, MPH, MHA, for receiving the PhilHealth RAWATEN 2025 Award as the Best YAKAP Provider in the Province of Sulu, the lone awardee in the province for the said category.

This is the second Rawaten Award received by Parang District Hospital. The first award was given last 2023.

We also extend our warmest gratitude to PhilHealth Regional Office — BARMM, for recognizing our commitment to quality healthcare and dedicated service to the Tausug people, especially to the people of Parang, Sulu and its neighboring municipalities. ALHAMDULILLAH for the successful 8th Blood Letting Activity of Parang District Hospital Blood Station Facility held on September 15, 2025, at PDH Complex, Brgy. Kanaway, Parang, Sulu.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our partners for helping us make this activity possible.
Thanks to the SPH-IPHO Blood Collection Unit Team headed by Dr Nhamier M. Jikiri, MBA-MHA, OIC- Provincial Health Officer II, Parang Municipal Government Unit headed by Hon. Habib Alkhadar T. Loong, Parang RHU, Barangay Chairman of Lower Sampunay, Tikong, Lipunos, Guimba Lagasan, Kanaway, Laum Suwah, Nonokan, Alu Pangkoh, & Lungan Guitong, PDH Staff, and troops from the 41IB Bravo Company headed by 1LT JANSEN C. PAGULAYAN (INF) PA - Bravo Company Commander.

We were able to collect 19 units of blood with different blood types.

We are grateful to everyone who gave blood today. Your donation will have a significant impact on saving lives.

The primary objective of the activity is to collect a variety of blood products that will be utilized in saving the lives of people of PARANG, SULU especially among in-patients who are in need of blood.
