When Someone Believes They Don’t Exist: Understanding Cotard’s Syndrome

Imagine waking up and truly believing that you are dead... that your organs are missing… Or that you no longer exist.

This is the reality for individuals experiencing Cotard's syndrome — a rare psychiatric condition characterized by intense nihilistic delusions.
💭 People with this condition may believe:
• They are dead or dying
• Parts of their body are missing
• They have no blood or internal organs
• The world itself no longer exists

Though rare, Cotard’s Syndrome is often linked to severe depression, psychosis, or neurological conditions.

The good news? With proper psychiatric care, therapy, and sometimes medication, recovery is possible!

Small Habits That Secretly Change Your Life ✨

Big transformations don’t happen overnight—they’re built through small, consistent actions you choose every single day. Drinking more water. Waking up 10 minutes earlier. Reading a few pages. Choosing kindness. Showing up even when you don’t feel like it.

It may not look like much today, but one day you’ll realize those tiny habits shaped a stronger, healthier, more confident version of you.

Start small. Stay consistent. Trust the process. 🌱

Happy International Women’s Day! 💜

Today, we honor the strength, brilliance, and impact of women — especially those who shaped the world of psychology and changed how we understand the human mind.

Because of Anna Freud, we gained deeper insight into child psychoanalysis and defense mechanisms.
Through Mary Ainsworth, we came to understand the power of attachment and secure relationships.
Karen Horney challenged traditional theories and gave women a stronger voice in psychological thought.
Mamie Phipps Clark courageously showed how racism impacts self-perception and identity.
And Eleanor Maccoby transformed how we view gender development and socialization.

Their work reminds us that women do not just participate in change — they lead it.

Today, we celebrate every woman who nurtures, questions, builds, heals, researches, and empowers.

May we continue to break barriers, uplift one another, and create spaces where every woman’s voice is heard.

Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸

This Women's Month, know you're seen and valued beyond measure—no objectification, no disrespect. Let's softly uncover biases, embrace stories of quiet strength from women everywhere, and lift every silenced voice. Together, we nurture equality in every space, wrapping you in respect and empowerment.

The Most Precious Gift Carl Rogers once said that empathy is “the most precious gift that one can give to another.” To offer empathy is not to judge, fix, or explain. It is to enter into another’s world, to walk beside them, to sense their experience as if it were your own — while never losing the as if.

Rogers taught that empathy flourishes when joined with congruence — the therapist’s genuine realness — and unconditional positive regard, a deep prizing of the person without judgment. When these attitudes are present together, people feel safe enough to unfold.

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." — Eleanor Roosevelt

This month we celebrate International Women’s Day, this iconic reminder serves as a masterclass in Internal Locus of Control. In psychology, this means recognizing that while we cannot always control the biases or glass ceilings society places in our way, we hold the ultimate cognitive agency over how much power we give those external opinions.

Today, we celebrate the strength it takes to withdraw that consent—to stop measuring our worth by someone else’s yardstick and instead build a self-concept rooted in our own inherent value and resilience. ✨

The flowers and chocolates are gone, but your self-love shouldn’t be.

Valentine’s is over. This is a week to focus on your own heart, your own growth, and your own happiness. Stop pouring all your energy into others and start giving it back to the person who matters most: you.

Thinking about Friday boosts your mood—literally.
Your brain releases dopamine when it anticipates a reward (rest, freedom, fun). That’s why even imagining the weekend makes the week feel lighter.

It’s not in your head.
Well… actually, it is.

A deep anchor bond isn’t just closeness—it’s a safe, trusting connection that grounds us.

Psychologically, it helps reduce stress, stabilize our mood, and strengthen resilience. Having someone to rely on isn’t just comforting—it’s essential for our mental well-being.

True art? It’s not paint or brush strokes—it’s the love we give, the care we share, the connections we nurture, and the kindness we show in everyday moments.

The greatest masterpiece we can create is in how we touch each other’s lives.

When we love and care for others, our hearts feel lighter, our spirits brighter, and even the simplest days hold a deeper sense of joy and fulfillment.

Sometimes, love isn’t found in grand gestures or extravagant gifts…

It’s in the little, meaningful things we do for others— a warm meal, a kind word, a shared laugh, a gentle “I’m here.” Because real love is about presence, care, and connection.
