Rizal Medical Center capacitates staff for improved geriatric care at the Haven for the Elderly
The Rizal Medical Center capacitated the staff of the Haven for the Elderly in Tanay, Rizal towards providing better geriatric care for the residents last July 31, 2025.
Licensed physical therapists from the Rizal Medical Center guided the 20 nurses and houseparents of the facility on various exercise routines for bedridden and post-stroke residents as well as ergonomic caregiving practices.
According to Nurse Jocelyn Reyes, they also learned about the importance of interpersonal skills in providing geriatric care, especially in maintaining a positive attitude and practicing empathy, respect, and courtesy towards all their residents.
Reyes added that all the staff, including the management of the Haven for the Elderly, were grateful to the Rizal Medical Center for their continuous provision of relevant training to the staff to ensure that they all can provide better care for the residents.
