Department of Health (DOH) Officer-in-Charge Dr. Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire today led the celebration of the National Health Worker’s Day in the DOH Central Office with the theme "Mangagawang Pangkalusugan, Kaagapay sa PagSULONG ng Isang Healthy Pilipinas''.
The OIC expressed her gratitude to the health workers for their unwavering services to the Filipino people. She committed to continue supporting all healthcare workers by ensuring the proper disbursement of the necessary benefits for them.
Further, OIC Vergeire underscored that the DOH also continues to exert all efforts to further capacitate healthcare workers. These include provision of scholarships and other professional opportunities as well as lobbying for salary standardization — for both public and private sectors — through legislation.
In line with this celebration, various activities were conducted to promote the mental and physical health of healthcare workers of the Department. A “Health Workers Job Fair” was also organized, in collaboration with Metro Manila DOH Hospitals, to bring awareness to the different career opportunities available within the Department.
"You, our healthcare workers, are the backbone of our health systems. Rest assured that we will continue to provide you with necessary support for the betterment of your welfare.
