Operation Timbang Plus: Sulong sa Kalusugan
Ang Operation Timbang Plus (OPT+) ay isang mandato ng National Nutrition Council (NNC) na naglalayong kunin ang timbang at taas ng mga batang edad 0-59 na buwan.

Sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Asst. Sec. Azucena M. Dayanghirang, isinusulong ang digitalization ng mga datos na ito upang maging tumpak ang pagtukoy at pagbibigay ng mabilis na tulong o interbensyon ng gobyerno sa mga batang nangangailangan.

Layunin ng OPT+ na mapalakas ang ugnayan sa mga magulang sa pamamagitan
ng "Knocking on Doors" Theory, kung saan personal na binibisita ng mga Barangay Health Workers ang mga tahanan.

Sa paraang ito, masisiguro ang tumpak na sukat ng bata, mababawasan ang hiya ng pamilya sa paglapit sa health center, at makapagbibigay ng
mas angkop na payong pang-nutrisyon batay sa aktwal na pamumuhay ng pamilya.

Ang implementasyon ng Operation Timbang Plus sa bayan ng Pigcawayan ay dahil sa epektibong pamumuno ng National Nutrition Council (NNC) at masigasig na pagsubaybay ng Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) ng Pigcawayan at sa tulong ng
mga barangay officials gaya ng Barangay Health Workers (BHW), Barangay Nutrition
Scholar (BNS), Nurses, at Midwives.

Sa pagkakaisa ng local at pambansang
pamahalaan, tinitiyak ng programang ito na ang bawat bata ay mabibigyan ng tamang
interbensyon at malasakit upang sila ay lumaking malusog, malakas, at ma magandang
kinabukasan.

The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) held its final quarterly meeting of the year yesterday at ABC Hall, presided over by the Committee on Health Hon. Jeremiah Peter Dela Calzada, RN in the behalf of MNC Chairman, Hon. Juanito C. Agustin.

We tackled major items, including a detailed look at our Q3 accomplishments, finalized our calendar of Q4 upcoming activities, and discussed crucial new nutrition policies for municipal adoption. Every agenda item drives us closer to our goal of zero malnutrition.

A huge thank you to every single MNC member their hard work and dedication.

We have successfully charted our course for the final quarter. Thank you to the dedicated MNC Members and Department Heads for your decisive action and unwavering commitment to public health and nutrition. 🙏

With this strong foundation, the Municipal Nutrition Office will ensure that no child is left behind in our nutritional programs, and together, we will achieve a truly well-nourished community! 🧑‍🧑‍🧒 ✨

👶 Ang bawat bata ay may karapatang lumaki nang malusog at maabot ang kanilang potensyal.

Pero sa Pilipinas, marami pa ring mga bata ang nakararanas ng stunting o pagkabansot na tinatawag ding chronic malnutrition, isang kondisyon na dulot ng pangmatagalang kakulangan ng tamang nutrisyon na nagpapabagal sa kanilang paglaki.

Nililimitahan ng stunting hindi lamang ang pagtangkad kundi pati ang pag-develop ng utak, kakayahan sa pag-aaral, at maging ang kanilang kalusugan at kabuhayan pagtanda.

Ang magandang balita? Maiiwasan ang pagkabansot sa pamamagitan ng wastong nutrisyon, sapat na kalinga, at akses sa masustansyang pagkain, serbisyong pangkalusugan, malinis na tubig at sanitasyon, at mga social proection program sa mula pagbubuntis hanggang ikalawang kaarawan ng bata.

The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of Pigcawayan is pleased to announce the successful culmination of our 90-day Supplemental Wet Feeding Program for 123 undernourished children (6–59 months) across all barangays.

This program was a critical, short-term intervention utilizing freshly cooked, nutrient-dense meals—essential for rapidly improving their nutritional status, boosting immune systems, and supporting proper development during their critical growth window. The observed health improvements underscore the program's necessity and effectiveness.

Culmination Highlights and Program Recognition

The culmination ceremony was successfully held on September 25, 2025, at the TESDA Covered Court, Pigcawayan. This accomplishment was achieved through the collaborative efforts of the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

The program flow included:

• The Welcome Address delivered by Merlyn S. Castillon, RN, MPA, in behalf of Dr. Helario E. Tenorio, MD (Municipal Health Officer).

• The program Rationale presented by Jasmine C. Regaspi, RND (Provincial Nutrition Coordinator).

• The Inspirational Message for Governor Taliño-Mendoza, delivered by Hon. Clai Ostique, Hon. Aries Ballano, and Hon. Dennis Lopez.

• The Acknowledgement of Graduates and Awarding of Certificates led by Hon. Jeremiah Peter N. Dela Calzada, RN (Committee on Health).

• The Program Feedback provided by the selected Barangay Captains Hon. Valentino Largonio, Hon. Aida Arandilla, BNS Marycho Marangga and Jefson T. Bolante, RND (HRH Nutritionist Dietitian II).

The event concluded with the Pledge of Commitment led by Josephine S. Capuyan, RN followed by Closing Remarks delivered by the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, Sofia Ysabelle Beltran, RND.
