🩸 Successful Bloodletting Drive in Pilar: A Community Act of Saving Lives

The Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Pilar, in collaboration with the Caraga Regional Hospital Bloodbank, conducted a successful bloodletting activity on November 12, 2025, at the Pilar Municipal Gym.

The event demonstrated a strong community spirit and commitment to public health:

* Total Volunteers: 74 individuals showed up to donate 🥰

* Successful Donors: 56 donors successfully passed the screening process and contributed blood 👏👏

This turnout highlights the collective effort of the RHU, the Caraga Regional Hospital bloodbank and the generous volunteers in ensuring a stable blood supply for Surigao Del Norte.

Ang gihatag nga dugo importante para sa pagtambal sa mga biktima sa aksidente, mga pasyente nga moagi og komplikadong operasyon, ug mga inahan nga naglisod tungod sa grabe nga pagdugo sa pagpaanak. Ang pagbaton og igo nga supply nagpasabot og paspas nga pagtubag sa panahon nga matag segundo mahalaga.

📌Suporta sa mga Pasyente nga Dunay Talisik nga Sakit:
Nagahatag kini og dugang kusog ug suporta sa mga residente nga nagbatok sa mga chronic illnesses sama sa anemia, cancer, o ubang sakit sa dugo.

📌 Lokal nga Access ug Kasigurohan:
Pinaagi sa pag-apil sa lokal nga bloodletting drives, direkta nga natabangan sa mga Pilarnon ang pagpasig-uli sa blood supply sa mga ospital ug health facilities sa lugar. Nakasiguro kini nga ang pamilya ug mga silingan sa Pilar ug tibuok Caraga region maka-access og luwas nga dugo kung kinahanglanon.

📌 Benepisyo sa Kahimsog sa Donor:
Ang kanunay ug boluntaryo nga pag-donate og dugo makatabang sa lawas sa donor pinaagi sa pagpabuhi og bag-ong blood cells nga makatabang sa sirkulasyon, ug sa pagmintinar og husto nga lebel sa iron sa lawas.

Ang malampusong paningkamot sa 56 ka donors sa Nobyembre 12, 2025 nagpakita sa usa ka matinuoron ug maloloy-on nga buhat nga makatabang sa pagluwas sa daghang kinabuhi sa komunidad. 🩸

Oras: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Ang pag donar sa dugo kay dako karajaw nga tabang. Ang isa ka bag nga dugo kay makapaluwas na nan tawo nga nag-antos o nagkinahanglan abonohon nan dugo kada adlaw, semana o kada buyan sama sa:

> dengue,
> na aksidente,
> cancer,
> Leukemia (sakit sa dugo),
> Thalassemia,
> Aplastic anemia,
> Kidney failure,
> Severe bleeding after surgery

On September 24, 2025, the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Pilar successfully conducted the "Purok Kalusogan" program at the Barangay Jaboy Multi-Purpose Court. This comprehensive health outreach initiative brought a wide range of essential medical and public health services directly to the residents.
The activity was a resounding success, offering the following vital services:
✨ Medical Consultations: Led by Dr. Ethel Dominque G. Lausa, providing free check-ups, diagnostics, and health advice.
✨ Maternal & Child Health:
📌 Prenatal Check-ups for expectant mothers.
📌 Immunization services (vaccinations) for infants and young children.
📌Nutritional Supplementation:
📌 Deworming for children aged 2 to 19 years old.
📌Vitamin A Supplementation for children aged 6 to 59 months.
✨ Women's Health Screening: VIA (Visual Inspection using Acetic Acid) procedures for early detection of cervical abnormalities.
✨ PhilHealth Assistance: Profiling and registration support to help residents secure national health insurance coverage.

By delivering these crucial preventative and primary healthcare services, the RHU significantly contributed to the overall wellness and health security of the community in Barangay Jaboy ❤️

🚀 Pilar Pioneers Digital Health with
"POOK MALUSOG"!
We are incredibly proud to announce that the RHU-Pilar has been recognized by the Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF) for its successful implementation of the innovative "POOK MALUSOG" dashboard! This makes Pilar one of the select pilot municipalities in the Philippines to embrace this crucial digital transformation.
The formal recognition ceremony was held today, October 7, 2025, at the Bay View Park Hotel Manila.

A Digital Leap for Health Services

The POOK MALUSOG dashboard represents a significant milestone for the Municipality of Pilar. It’s a game-changer that fully digitalizes data collection, storage, and presentation for the health and nutrition records of our most vulnerable population: pregnant women and children aged 0-59 months.
This strategic utilization of technology marks a major leap in how Pilar delivers health services. The dashboard ensures faster analysis and more precise action, moving us toward a more efficient, evidence-based, and proactive public health system.

Ang 𝑽𝒊𝒔𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑨𝒄𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝑨𝒄𝒊𝒅 (VIA) ay isang uri ng screening test na kung saan ito ay ginagawa upang malaman ng mas maaga ang anumang sintomas ng pagkakaroon ng Cervical Cancer.

A healthy mind starts off with a healthy body. ❤️‍🩹

💉Ensuring the continuity of the protective coverage from the routine immunizations received by a child during infancy, the RHU-Pilar participated in this year's school-based immunization. This is an annual program conducted by theDepartment of Health that allows for the administration of booster doses for Measles & Rubella(MR), and Tetanus & Diptheria(TD) vaccines. 💉

The target for this vaccination effort are all the students from the Grades 1& 7. Children, with their guardian's consent, were screened, and if without any contraindications, were given booster doses for MR & TD vaccines.

Along with MR & TD vaccines, female students from the grade 5 level have also started to receive their second dose of HPV vaccine, the vaccine primarily responsible for protection agianst cervical cancer.

With coordination from the DepEd(through the respective head teachers from each schools in Pilar) the RHU team have been able to provide complete coverage to all eligible students.

As the future leaders & members of the municipality, we will continue to serve the youth of Pilar!

The RHU-Pilar conducted its bi-annual Program Implementation Review(PIR). This is imperative in order for the health unit to know where it stands in its accomplishment in the delivery of health services.

Through this activity, a sense of self-awareness is imbued into the unit; allowing the unit insights on the methods that are successful in achieving its goals; and, be able to identify issues & areas where improvements can be made.

With every PIR done, the RHU becomes more aware, more confident & more determined to serve the people of Pilar. Looking forward to the second half of year 2025!

July 08, 2025, Pilar Municipal Hall Mayor's Conference Room

The Municipal Nutrition Council convened for a meeting last July 08, 2025. Lead by Hon. Mayor Jeasa C. Gonzales, facilitated by MNAO, Jean E. Cordita & PHN, John Mar E. Virtudazo, attended by MNC members, Brgy. Captains, RHU staff and representatives from the Zuelig Family Foundation.

Members of the council were oriented on the Pook Kalusugan Program dashboard--An application, that since last year, has been utilized by the staff from the RHU-Pilar.

The application, sponsored by the Zuellig Family Foundation for the people of Pilar, is a tool, that among other things, aims to record & monitor the health & nutrition of pregnant patients and children aged 0-59 months living within the municipality. It has allowed for a more precise & timely data collection, storage, retrieval, interpretation & presentation. The amount of convenience allowed for by the program could mean more effective interventions in addressing the health & nutrition needs of the concerned patients.

Another key & unique feature of the application is that it allows for the geotagging of the patient's residence, making it easier to locate them should the need for interventions arise.

This is but one of many steps that the RHU-Pilar is taking to move forward into the future in service of the Pilarnons! And this wouls have not been possible without the Zuellig Family Foundation's assistance, and with that, we say, Salamat Karajaw!❤️
