ACUPOTOMY is a fusion of the basic theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine and modern western. It is relatively new type of non-invasive acupuncture or micro surgery using a small needle-scalpel which was invented by Professor Zhu Hanzhang 30 years ago. It Is popular in China and is also used over 40 countries.

The shape looks like a needle for acupuncture with a sharp bladed tip. It is inserted into the acupuncture point or the space between bones and muscles and is able to break apart adhesions and the muscle knots more effectively.

FIRE NEEDLING or commonly referred to as Filiform Fire Needling is a special technique used in treatment and is considered as heat application method. The target tissue is often the fascia, the skin, tendons, muscles and the vessels.

The purpose of the fire needling is the transmission of heat into the body's specific point which could be the acupuncture points or other local points.

In order to have positive therapeutic results, the needle is first heated through direct exposure to flame and will have to wait until the needle becomes red to provide extreme heat load before inserting into the patient's body.

After needle insertion, the patient will fee heat on the part that was punctured but no retention nor manipulation is needed to regulate the qi, since the heat load is performing that regulation.

Accoding to the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic (Chapter 73 of the Basic Question):
"DISEASE that is not successfully treated by acupuncture may be treated by heat application."
