On September 17, 2025, Iloilo Provincial Hospital joined the global observance of World Patient Safety Day, embracing this yearโs theme: โSafe Care for Every Newborn and Every Child โ Patient Safety from the Start.โ The event highlighted the hospitalโs unwavering dedication to ensuring the highest standards of safety in maternal, newborn, and pediatric care.
The celebration began with a Pledge of Commitment, where healthcare professionals from various departments stood united in their vow to uphold patient safety at every stage of care. This was symbolized by the ceremonial affixing of signatures, demonstrating each staff memberโs personal and professional accountability in safeguarding the lives of the hospitalโs youngest patients.
Hospital personnelโincluding doctors, nurses, midwives, and support staffโreaffirmed their shared responsibility to provide safe, timely, and compassionate care. The event served as a reminder that safety is not merely a protocol, but a lifelong promise, beginning from the very first breath a child takes.
Through this meaningful celebration, Iloilo Provincial Hospital reinforced its alignment with the World Health Organizationโs call to reduce preventable harm in healthcare and to strengthen safety systems for mothers and children. It also emphasized the importance of teamwork, continuous learning, and patient-centered practices in creating a safer healthcare environment.
World Patient Safety Day 2025 serves not only as a moment of reflection but also as a renewed call to actionโfor all healthcare providers to remain vigilant, committed, and united in their mission to deliver safe care from the start.
