The Local Government Unit of President Roxas headed by HON. Receliste Lachica Escolin, and the Municipal Agriculturist Office of President Roxas, Capiz would like to extend sincere thanks to SIKAT Inc. (Sentro ng Katutubong Agham at Teknolohiya) in facilitating the 4-day Learning Visit and Benchmarking in Negros Occidental under it's KNH-BMZ Project. Also, thank you to LGUs of Kabankalan, Hinigaran, and Himamaylan for a satisfying welcome and accommodation.

The said activity truly inspires the fisherfolk participants, Sangguniang Bayan Members Georly Lachica and Jeffrey Dela Cruz, and fisheries technical personnel from our municipality to strengthen and continue enhance fishery and agriculture sector.

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) conducted first judging of the "Gulayan sa Patubigan" entry of CIGOCU Irrigators Inc. in Brgy. Cubay together with the Municipal Agriculturist Office of President Roxas, Capiz to provide a support system to the said program.

The "Gulayan sa Patubigan" Program is an innovative program of the said agency that enables the irrigators associations utilize auxilliary spaces and embankments of irrigatiin canals for vegetable gardening, transforming unproductive areas into thriving communal gardens.

Today, September 03, 2025 - Personnel from Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office VI (DA-RFO6) - High-value Crops Development Program conducted validation to the two proposed sites for Gulayan sa Bayan (GSB) Program of the said agency in the municipality of President Roxas.

The GSB Program aims to enhance food access and foster sustainable food systems through the establishment of community nurseries and/or community gardens.

The Municipal Agriculturist Office of President Roxas, Capiz under the administration of HON. RECELISTE L. ESCOLIN, hosted a two-day Meat Safety Orientation and Monitoring Activity in cooperation of National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) Region VI last July 29-30, 2025.
The objective of the said activity is to equip meat dealers, handlers, and stakeholders with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the safe handling, processing, storage, and sale of meat products, in compliance with food safety standards and regulations, thereby protecting public health and promoting consumer confidence.

The Municipal Agriculturist Office of President Roxas, Capiz conducted monitoring and field validation on plantings and extent of losses to crops caused by flooding due to Tropical Depression Bising in Brgy. Manoling.

Also, the Team holds a meeting with corn farmers of Brgy. Cubay to address some questions, issues, and concerns of the said farmers within their community related to programs implemented of the office under Local Government Unit of President Roxas.

As part of the functions of Municipal Agriculturist Office of President Roxas, Capiz, the office conducted assessment on established Temporary Shelter for stray cats within Feliciano Yusay Consing National High School (FYCNHS) premises. This initiative of the school Principal MR. RONILU B. TU, is to manage the welfare of both stray cats within the school premises and the students. Special thanks to MS. ETHYL DAWN M. CORVERA, animal welfare advocate, for accompanying the office in the said inspection to ensure safety and welfare of the said animals.
