To put their learinings on public speaking and conducting mental health talks into practice, the Puerto Princesa City National Science High School Immersion Program students conducted Kalusugan ng Isip lectures to the Grade 7 students of their beloved school.

Their underclass schoolmates enthusiastically participated in the classroom lectures as their mentors from Chapter gave their honest ratings and valuable feedback to the student-speakers using the PMHA evaluation tools.

Now on it's third year of partnership with the Chapter, the Puerto Princesa City National Science High School Immersion Program, continued on with the equipping and enhancing skills necessary in advocating for mental health and providing psychosocial support in the community. The students have undergone thorough orientation of the organization's make-up, history and programs for the understanding and better appreciation of the students deployed in the office. They too were given lecture-workshops on public speaking, crisis response and project proposal, as well as doing client calls, initial intake and assisting during psychiatric consultations.

Chapter is proud to have received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm, "in grateful recognition of unwavering commitment and steadfast partnership, invaluable assistance, and outstanding contribution to the programs and initiatives of the BuCor-IPPF".

This was awarded last Nov 16 by C/SUPT Gary A. Garcia. We also had an opportunity to meet and greet some of our other partners such as Ms. Laida M. Mascaranas, Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Puerto Princesa City as well as the Deputy Director of the Puerto Princesa City Police Office, PLTCOL Socrates E Faltado.

Last November 15, Chapter conducted Mental Health Awareness and Managing Anxiety lectures at Barangay Mandaragat, Puerto Princesa City. This was initiated by Hon. May Ann Tabinga, Sanggunian Kabataan Chairperson and was attended by youth residents of the said barangay. The lectures were facilitated by our Chapter Board Member and GAD Guidance Counselor of the PalawanSU, Ms Glaiza T. Sebatna.

Chapter joins JCI Puerto Princesa Peacock's "GARAGE GIVEBACK" - a fundraising fair to be held beginning TODAY until Dec 14, 4pm-8pm at the Tipsy Turtle Grounds (Club 200 Bldg., Junction 1, PPC). Proceeds will help support collaboration efforts of both organizations in the 18 Day Campaign to End VAWC in select schools where lectures and book reading activities on mental health, Gender Based Violence and VAWC will be discussed and various activities conducted.

OCTOBER in REVIEW

Chapter joined the medical mission themed, "Kalinga Kay Lolo at Lola" hosted by the Drugstores Association of the Philippines (DSAP) - Palawan in Bargangay San Jose. Our Program Officer, Joshua Emmanuel Alutaya and Admin. Assistant Riemuel Dave Rocaberte conducted Kalusugan ng Isip lectures for the senior citizens of the barangay. Psychoeducational materials were also provided for them.
