AFPCES Managers' Symposium 2025
QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES — The Armed Forces of the Philippines Commissary and Exchange Service (AFPCES) successfully held its Managers' Symposium 2025 from November 25 to 27, 2025, at Dimalupig Hall B, AFPCOC, Camp Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
LTC VANESSA ANGELA S SAMUDIO FS (GSC) delivered the welcome remarks, encouraging participants to embrace the opportunity for learning and collaboration. MAJ SHEENA B BELLO (QMS) PA, ACS for Operations CX3, provided an overview of the symposium's program objectives.
Resource speakers from AFPCES trade partners were also invited; among these was Ms. Bernadette Sambrano, who shared insights on the essence of managers in business operations. Mr. Arnold Joseph S. Hernando provided valuable insights on strategies in business operations management and customer relations. Ms. Sheena Encallado of Nestlé Philippines and Ms. Princess Coralles delivered data-driven presentations on shopper insights, highlighting consumer behavior and trends. Ms. Maan Sarmiento followed with a comprehensive presentation on trade standards, showcasing the organization's path to success. Mr. Chester Andra of Nestlé Philippines covered good warehousing practices, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and proper organization in warehouse areas to prevent product contamination and maintain quality standards.
COL GARRY N PINGEN (RET) CPP, Director for Security Operations from CAT Security Group, delivered a critical presentation on supply chain security, focusing on protection strategies for deliveries and logistics operations. He emphasized the importance of implementing robust security measures to safeguard business operations and maintain operational integrity.
Branch managers participated in scenario-based discussions, developing action plans to address store challenges and applying their newly acquired knowledge.
In his closing remarks, The Deputy Chief of Staff, LTGEN ROMMEL P ROLDAN PAF, emphasized the symposium's deeper purpose, highlighting the shared responsibility to manage AFPCES with competence, integrity, and service excellence. He reminded attendees that AFPCES is more than a commissary service—it supports the morale and welfare of soldiers and their families, and every correct decision improves the lives of those who serve our nation.
The symposium successfully enhanced managerial competencies and fostered collaboration across AFPCES branches, reinforcing the organization's dedication to excellence in serving the Armed Forces community.
