On a daily basis, healthcare workers must deal with a range of challenges. The sudden introduction of Covid-19 presented a further challenge to the already overwhelmed healthcare system. The pandemic changed the healthcare conundrum by posing newer societal and employment issues to healthcare professionals. Depending on whether it is a private or public institution, the type of work and salary vary. Many frontline employees rely on the government because it offers better pay, additional perks, and incentives. Many healthcare personnel migrate to first-world nations because private healthcare institutions do not offer as much as public or government institutions. Many healthcare professionals were forced to relocate to government institutions at the start of the epidemic because they offer better pay than private institutions. According to several healthcare professionals, the money they were receiving did not reflect the quality of their job throughout the pandemic.

Vaccine nationalism is a global issue that allows wealthy countries to pay for safekept vaccines to prioritize their people, therefore affecting countries with lower income. Now with the concept of the Fair Priority Model, the possibility of poorer countries having better access to the COVID-19 vaccine may increase. This could lead to increases in transmission rates in these countries, which ultimately could lead to more mutations and variants.

We acknowledge the challenges of building a strong healthcare infrastructure. As global citizens, we must ensure that support measures are extended and that we advocate for remaining equipped with necessary structures and facilities, most especially in least developed countries. With this said, here are some long-term, sustainable, and financially-attainable solutions to establish a stronger system and combat obstacles in the future together.

NTDs affect 1.4 billion people of the world's poorest nations, but they could be safely treated and prevented. Now the question is, have there been global efforts made? The WHO created and launched a roadmap of global targets to prevent, control, eliminate 20 diseases and disease groups as well as cross-cutting targets aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. Assessed foundational pillars will support global efforts to achieve the targets, and hopefully be fulfilled in year 2030.

Throughout the years of battling against the detrimental effects of NTDs, people have been trying to formulate and implement feasible solutions to prevent, treat, and mitigate the substantial illnesses caused by tropical diseases. Various methodologies and programs for facilitating a comprehensive approach to combat NTDs have been devised. Through these strategically formulated initiatives and viable solutions, affected communities may achieve a better state of collective well-being.

To kick off our agenda, Group 1 of CI-JK happily presents their topic:

Dengue, rabies, and leprosy are just a few of the diseases that plague our country on a daily basis. Some of you have been affected by these diseases or know someone who has. These diseases all belong to the same category, and the majority of them are found in tropical areas. As a result, the name "Neglected Tropical Diseases", or NTD for short, refers to a group of these diseases that affect people all over the world. Diseases that affect the health of our people should not be taken lightly, and we must be informed. Therefore, what exactly are NTDs and why are they so concerning?
