The world-renowned climate activist from Sweden, has described her autism spectrum condition as a โsuperpower.โ Diagnosed with Aspergerโs at age 11, Greta faced bullying and isolation, but she transformed her intense focus and persistence into a global movement demanding urgent climate action (BBC, 2019).
Her ability to see the climate crisis in โblack and whiteโ terms fueled her famous Fridays for Future school strikes, which inspired millions of young people around the world. Greta emphasizes that her neurodivergence allows her to stay unwavering in her mission, even in the face of criticism and opposition (Alter et al., n.d.).
Her story shows how autism can empower individuals to create global change, proving that being โdifferentโ can mean being extraordinarily impactful.
