Famously known as Marvel’s friendly neighborhood Spider-man, Tom Holland openly shared his journey with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In a press interview for his new Lego short film, he shared that while his condition makes a blank canvas feels intimidating, he believes that "play" takes an important role on his journey as an actor by forcing him to think outside-the-box and expanding his creativity (Mahapatra & Negi, 2025).

By speaking openly, he proves that with support, passion, and determination, individuals with neurodivergence can achieve incredible success! 🌟

The world-renowned climate activist from Sweden, has described her autism spectrum condition as a “superpower.” Diagnosed with Asperger’s at age 11, Greta faced bullying and isolation, but she transformed her intense focus and persistence into a global movement demanding urgent climate action (BBC, 2019).
Her ability to see the climate crisis in “black and white” terms fueled her famous Fridays for Future school strikes, which inspired millions of young people around the world. Greta emphasizes that her neurodivergence allows her to stay unwavering in her mission, even in the face of criticism and opposition (Alter et al., n.d.).
Her story shows how autism can empower individuals to create global change, proving that being “different” can mean being extraordinarily impactful.

Did you know? Jason Paul Laxamana, a Filipino filmmaker with autism, was diagnosed only in adulthood after recognizing his lifelong sensory sensitivities—such as aversion to formal clothes and overwhelm from loud environments (Gabinete, 2024).

Instead of viewing these as weaknesses, Jason credits his autism for sharpening his creative process. His sensitivity to detail and unique way of perceiving the world shape the emotional depth of his work, seen in films like 100 Tula Para Kay Stella (2017), The Day After Valentine’s (2018), Just a Stranger (2019), and Love is Color Blind (2021). Through these stories, he translates his unique wiring into narratives that resonate deeply with audiences.

Jason’s journey proves that neurodivergence can shape artistry in powerful ways—turning differences into tools for storytelling and representation on screen.
