Idineklara ng Quezon City Government ang Pertussis o Whooping Cough Outbreak kasunod ng pagtaas ng kaso nito sa Lungsod Quezon.

Mula Enero 2024 hanggang Marso 20, 2024 umabot na sa 23 ang naitalang kaso ng Pertusis sa Quezon City kung saan apat na sanggol na ang nasawi.

Ang Pertussis ay isang impeksyon sa respiratory system na dulot ng Bordetella Pertussis bacteria. Pangunahing nakakaapekto ito sa mga sanggol na wala pang 6 na buwang gulang na hindi pa ganap na protektado ng bakuna. Naaapektuhan ng Pertussis ang respiratory system, at maaari itong makahawa ng iba.

Tiniyak naman ng lokal na pamahalaan na may mga nakalatag nang protocols at guidelines para maiwasan ang pagkalat nito.
