Standard Rules on Health Card Coverage for Individual and Family Accounts
✅ Non pre existing illnesses like dengue, viral infection, bacterial infection, influenza etc , accidents and food poisoning are covered on first year for all HMO benefits
✅ Pre existing illnesses like hypertension, diabetes, heart, kidney, liver and other organ ailments etc are NOT yet covered on first 12 months, will be covered on 2nd year for all HMO benefits. (NOTE: CareHealth Plus covers consultations / medical check ups of pre existing illness related health concerns on first year onwards)
✅ Minor surgeries due to a pre existing illness will be covered on 2nd year of membership
✅ Major surgeries due to a pre existing will be covered on 3rd year of membership

It is therefore best for a person with pre existing conditions to enroll in a health card program soonest so that the one year waiting period on coverage of pre existing illnesses will already start.
