It all began with a vision to care for God’s hurting people. The dream was to set up a ministry that would share God’s light to the lost, the broken, the emotionally and the spiritually wounded. Under the leadership of Bro Bo Sanchez, founder of the Light of Jesus Family, and six other volunteers, namely, Ditas and Vic Espanol, Cristy Galang, Avic Achaval, Babes Fontillas, and Janet Ealdama (+), the Light of Jesus Counseling Center was born in July 1993. The group’s first project was to set up a telephone hotline to be operated three hours once a week for people who needed a listening ear.
Today, it continues to pursue that dream of sharing Christ through caring. Now called Light of Jesus Pastoral Care Center (LOJPCC), its trained volunteer Pastoral Carers provide quality care and psycho- spiritual support to people going through rough times. This is done through various mediums – telephone, email, online chat support, and face to face sessions. Prior to the covid-19 pandemic, the LOJPCC provided 24 hours, 6 days a week of pastoral care services.
While its operations have been affected by the pandemic, our Pastoral Carers work from home and continue to be compassionate companions journeying with those who need someone to walk with them during these trying times.
In addition, the center offers psycho-spiritual-educational learning sessions that deal with life issues such as depression & su***de, grief & loss, inner healing and other personal growth retreats.
Looking back through the years, the LOJPCC has been….
bringing hope to those who are hopeless…..
being Jesus to those who have lost their way to Him…..
nurturing and caring for those who are discouraged ……
