Patient has concern with his current prescription. I saw him last May, but he held off changing his glasses because it's barely two years with him. I can't fault him for maximizing its usage before changing. I totally understood his frugality. After all, the cost of a premium progressive lenses is generally steep.

Regrettably, even with discomfort, he continued to wear his glasses until he visited me again last October.

Usually, dealing with patients with unmet satisfaction makes it a tad harder for me in prescribing lenses. I have to consider his budget without sacrificing the lenses I think would benefit him, regardless of the cost. Fortunately, he trusted my recommendation. Below is a screenshot that proves he's happy with his glasses.

The lenses I prescribed was Hoya Myself Profile. The design specifically, its binocular harmonization technology, eased up his past visual concern. Someone with a hundred fifty diopter of a difference between two eyes can benefit using Hoya's BHT. This technology alleviates symptoms like eyestrain, headache, focusing problems, etc and improves depth perception by compensating for prescription differences.

Comparing prices between quality lenses and knock-off lenses is like comparing apples to oranges. Premium lenses are expensive for a reason. Consumers are buying for the brand's lens design, the comfort while wearing them and exceptional lens coating. This is coming from a HOYA proponent for more then a decade, if you want lenses that genuinely focus on your vision and has clear long-term benefits, choose HOYA lenses.
