Luke’s Medical Center Nutrition Support Team (SLMC-NST) has its roots going all the way back to 1984 when the SLMC Nutrition committee was established. The committee evolved into the Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) team in 1988. Its primary objective is to rationalize the practice of parenteral nutrition in the hospital. Due to the increasing utilization of both enteral and parenteral nutrition in the hospital practice and need for body to oversee the safe and proper way of providing nutritional support, the team was reorganized into the Nutrition Support Team in 1995. Dr. Luisito Llido played an instrumental role in establishing the Nutrition Support Team through organized coordination between physicians, dietitians, nurses, and pharmacists. SLMC-NST became the birthplace of Nutrition Support Team (NST) development in the Philippines
