Kylie (not her real name), aged 8.

My daughter takes after her mother who loves playing the piano and arts (mainly painting and drawing). Her piano teacher says she’s a natural and her progress was really good until a few months ago, when we all noticed a decline in her performance. Eye Pursuits is a visual skill that enable the eyes to scan a word, with smooth binocular movements, in order to read a word accurately. Without this visual skill, a child may omit sounds in a word. These assumptions and omissions often lead to spelling mistakes.

My daughter Belle is shy and timid. Theres really no telling if something wrong because she seldom expresses herself. I encourage her to be more expressive and voice out the things that bother her. One day, she told me she didnt want to go to school anymore. It turns out she was bullied in class because one of eyes would deviate. This broke my heart.
