“My face is always the first place to lose volume whenever I lose weight. In 2023, I was looking for a solution to my under-eye bags and hollow areas because I looked tired and worn out after losing almost 20 kg from being in a caloric deficit. The U.S. FDA has issued a safety communication (October 15, 2025) highlighting potential risks and serious complications from certain uses of RF microneedling devices — including burns, scarring, fat loss, disfigurement, and nerve damage.

These devices deliver RF energy under the skin to create local heating for “skin tightening” or “rejuvenation,” but adverse events have been reported that may require surgical or medical intervention.

For breast rejuvenation and fat grafting, Dr. Callanta was trained under Dr. Roger Khouri in Miami, Florida in 2009, who contributed to the innovations in liposuction and lipografting; and was the innovator of the BRAVA® Enhancement and Shaping System, this uses an external breast tissue expander followed by a large volume fat graft.
