Aromatherapy is a form of alternative medicine that uses volatile plant materials, known as essential oils, and other aromatic compounds for the purpose of altering a person's mind, mood, cognitive function or health. Some essential oils such as tea tree[1] have demonstrated anti-microbial effects, but there is still a lack of clinical evidence demonstrating efficacy against bacterial, fungal, or viral infections. Evidence for the efficacy of aromatherapy in treating medical conditions remains poor, with a particular lack of studies employing rigorous methodology,[2] but some evidence exists that essential oils may have therapeutic potential.[3

The Combination massage respects all the teachings of Thai massage and acknowledges the existence of the “energy body” which includes “sen” or energy lines through which our life force flows and at the same time utilizes popular elements of the Swedish style with the benefits of increased circulation and the release of toxins from the body’s soft tissues and muscles. The Combo Massage makes recipients feel more balanced physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually by incorporating acupressure, passive yoga therapy and reflexology along ten of the most important sen lines. Throughout the massage, the Practitioner will utilize their arms, elbows, hands, palms thumbs, fingertips, legs, knees, feet and toe to apply to the body a series of movements including: compressions, pressure points, body stretches, light or hard touch, soft or deep kneading, rhythmic tapping, friction, and vibrations. In addition the Practitioner moves the receivers’ body through specific yoga-like positions and gently rocks the body to more deeply open joints and facilitate limbering. The Practitioner mixes these movements over the massage time allotted and will also incorporate the use of various oils and lotions to assist in the effectiveness of these motions.
