National Children’s Hospital Multi-Sectoral Governance Council Holds First Meeting of the Year

The National Children’s Hospital (NCH) Multi-Sectoral Governance Council (MSGC) convened its first meeting of 2026. This biannual gathering, currently chaired by former Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Dr. Paulyn Jean Ubial, unites diverse sectors to collaborate on key issues impacting the hospital. The MSGC provides strategic guidance and oversight to advance NCH’s development and sustain its transformational roadmap.

During the meeting, the introduction of new members was acknowledged, including Congressman Jesus Manuel 'B**g' Suntay, represented by Atty. Arlene Roura, and Dr. Nina Castillo-Carandang.

Also in attendance were other members of the MSGC, including Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, represented by Ms. Kristine Pascua, Ms. Fatima Lorenzo, and Dr. Hilda Ong. Members of the Executive Committee (ExeCom) of National Children's Hospital were likewise present, led by Medical Center Chief Dr. Philip A. Morales, together with Chief of Medical Professional Staff Dr. Cecilia Dizon, Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Reynaldo Salazar, CAO - Finance Ms. Joanabelle Orzales, Chief Nurse Lenore Pasol, and OSM Chair Dr. Cynthia Castro.

The MSGC Technical Working Group was also present, headed by Dr. Jhoanna Abuzman, with members Dr. Marwa Mundoc, Dr. Andrea Aranda, Dr. Lyndsay Angeli Santos, Ms. Imelda Nabayra, Ms. Rose Catap, Ms. Golda Valientes, Ms. Keithly Alegre, Mr. Claudene Ace Jorvina, Mr. Eugene Paolo Dela Llarte, Ms. Nerisa Abila, Ms. Cherry Orlina, Ms. Julien Refugia, and Mr. James Harold Katigbak.

NCH celebrates its 81st Foundation Anniversary and 11th Milestone and Loyalty Awards.

The National Children’s Hospital celebrated its 81st Foundation Anniversary and 11th Milestone and Loyalty Awards. NCH proudly honored hospital personnel loyalty awardees held last February 11,2026 at the NCH 6th Flr Medical Arts Building.

The event started with an inspiring message from the Medical Center Chief Dr. Philip A. Morales who expressed gratitude and honored the awardees who are the “NCH Champions”.

The Loyalty Award, according to the Civil Service Commission is a prestigious recognition of an employees “continous and satisfactory service in the government.”

The event was attended by the members of the NCH Executive committee, members of the NCH PRAISE Committee, loyalty awardees and their families and employees.
Director Noel V. Salumbides, Director II CSC- Field Office DOH, was the guest of honor and speaker.

National Children’s Hospital Signs Memorandum of Agreement with Quirino Memorial Medical Center – Department of Family and Community Medicine

The signing ceremony took place on February 10, 2026, at the 6th Floor, Medical Arts Building.

The National Children’s Hospital Section of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics and Quirino Memorial Medical Center (QMMC) have formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Agreement for the Transition Clinic. The program, titled Pagtulay: Patuloy na Pagkalinga Tungo sa Pagtanda – Transition Clinic for Adolescents and Young Adults with Special Needs, is an initiative of Section Head Dr. Agnes Falcotelo and operates under the supervision of Dr. Ma. Kriselda Alonzo.

In his opening remarks, NCH Medical Center Chief Dr. Philip A. Morales expressed profound appreciation and gratitude to QMMC and its Medical Center Chief, Dr. Evelyn Victoria E. Reside, for accepting this important responsibility. This partnership ensures a seamless transition and continued access to care for our patients with special needs.

NCH 2026 General Assembly and State of the Hospital Address

“The National Children’s Hospital capped off 2025 on a high note and finished strong” - Dr. Philip A. Morales

The 2026 National Children’s Hospital (NCH) General Assembly and State of the Hospital Address was convened on February 2, 2026 at the NCH 6th Floor Medical Arts Building.

The Medical Center Chief, Dr. Philip A. Morales highlighted the hospital’s key milestones and achievements for 2025, while outlining strategic directions centered on excellence and sustainable growth.

During the event, NCH Executive Committee (EXECOM) members - Mr. Reynaldo Salazar, CAO-HOPSS, Dr. Cecilia Dizon - CMPS, Dr. Lenore Pasol - Chief Nurse, and Ms. Jean Orzales - CAO Finance, presented comprehensive reports on the accomplishments of their respective divisions.

The event was moderated by Dr. Cynthia Castro, Chairperson of the Office of Strategy Management (OSM) and attended by the NCH Employees, with online access provided for broader participation.

NCH - Celebrates the Graduation of Residents and Fellows Class of 2025

The National Children's Hospital celebrated the graduation of its Residents and Fellows Class of 2025 at the 6th Floor Conference Room, MAB.

The ceremony officially started with remarks from our Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Philip A. Morales who extolled the graduates and advised them to spread the good news that at NCH, we not only pioneered child health in the Philippines but is continuously providing quality health care for the Filipino children.
We were deeply honored to welcome back Dr. Epifania S. Simbul, former MCC of NCH as the guest of honor and speaker.
