PVMA supports the Bureau of Animal Industry in strengthening the national campaign against rabies. Protecting both animal and public health requires sustained vaccination, responsible pet ownership, and strong collaboration among veterinarians, local governments, and communities.

We encourage veterinarians and partners nationwide to continue supporting these efforts as we work toward a rabies-free Philippines.

THE Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) has forged a partnership with the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) to bolster efforts in preventing rabies, which remains a critical health concern in the country. The Philippine Veterinary Medical Association congratulates the PVDNA and PVDAFI for their successful holding of the International Farmers Summit 2026!

During the IFS, the PVMA showed its support to farmers as its President, Dr. Lina S. Policarpio, served as Resource Speaker during the Agricultural and Economic Summit during Day 3.

In Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan’s speech, he recalls the PVMA’s efforts to push for the creation of municipal veterinary offices mandatory across the country.

CPF, meanwhile, turned over supplies as part of its commitment and partnership with the PVMA in its anti-rabies campaign efforts - A Rabies-Free Future Starts with Me.

We thank the IFS for giving us a platform to show our support to our agriculture sector. Once again, congratulations from all of us at the PVMA.

A Rabies-Free Future Starts with Me!

The Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) proudly launches its “A Rabies-Free Future Starts with Me” campaign during the 93rd PVMA Convention in Ilo-ilo City last Feb.18,2026.

This initiative kicks off with a Nationwide Simultaneous Rabies Vaccination Drive on March 11, 2026 and a Spay and Neuter Day on March 19, 2026, in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture through the Animal Health and Welfare Division of the Bureau of Animal Industry and the Provincial, Municipal, and City Veterinarians League of the Philippines (PCMVLP).

This campaign also supports the WOAH’s “Zero by 30” global program, which aims to eliminate human deaths from dog-mediated rabies by 2030. By joining this worldwide effort, Filipino veterinarians and communities are taking a united stand to protect families, children, and pets—one vaccination at a time.
Rabies is 100% preventable through vaccination—and 100% fatal once symptoms appear. Together, through sustained vaccination, population control, and responsible pet ownership, we can eliminate this deadly disease and safeguard Filipino families.

We invite LGUs, all veterinarians, veterinary clinics, hospitals, NGOs, and every Filipino pet owner to join this life-saving mission—not only today, but until rabies is eliminated in our motherland. Charoen Pokphand Farms (CPF) has been the first company to extend support for this program. Other companies and organizations are enjoined to sponsor this milestone, helping build a safer, healthier, rabies-free Philippines. Together, we stand united for a safer, healthier, rabies-free future. This will be our legacy.

Note: Those organizing independent events, please inform the PVMA Secretariat (secretariat@pvma.com.ph) so we can capture the number of animals vaccinated, spayed and neutered. The list of participating LGUs will be published soon.
