An executive turned Breastfeeding Coach, Zeny started as a Spa Consultant in 2001 and was part of the team that set-up the first ‘Oxygenated’ Day Spa in Macau. Coach Zeny also helped set-up the first Pre-Natal Lactation Clinic in the Philippines at the Asian Hospital
It was at the Asian Hospital that Coach Zeny saw the difficulties and frustration that mothers experience while breastfeeding infants. Challenged, she championed for mothers, coaching and encouraging them through their parenting journey.Wanting to give and do more for mothers, Zeny soon joined an NGO who advocates breastfeeding. This didn’t last for long as Zeny decided to be an independent Breastfeeding Coach. She attended seminars and training to equip herself and better meet the needs of mothers. Chiqui Brosas-Hahn, a Lamaze teacher and breastfeeding advocate. Hahn referred Zeny to assist her Lamaze students for breastfeeding coaching. Friends and associates in the medical field soon heard of Zeny’s advocacy and her compassionate approach in training and counseling mothers. They started sending their patients to her with very favorable feedback. Being single with no children has not hampered Zeny’s advocacy and in winning the trust of her patients. Rather, it has driven her to learn and do more research to improve caring for mothers and infants. Now, seven years later, having coached and helped hundreds of mother and parents, Coach Zeny continues to counsel and teach techniques on infant caring and post-partum care for the mothers. The years too have brought back former clients/mothers as they enlarge their families. Armed with experience, 2nd and 3rd time mothers still seek consultation in their desire to give their babies the best care. As part of her ministry, Coach Zeny along with Cher Anonas, a Peer Lactation Counselor (L.A.C.T.H.), conduct a free breastfeeding class once a month.
