Many women are caregivers - mothers, daughters, sisters, partners.

But who supports the caregiver?

Postpartum depression, chronic stress, compassion fatigue, and anxiety are real experiences, yet many women feel guilt for even admitting they’re overwhelmed.

Mental health care must be accessible and normalized.

Communities play a crucial role in protecting women’s wellbeing.

RenewHealth works with communities and local leaders to:
✔ Strengthen support systems
✔ Provide mental health education
✔ Create referral networks
✔ Integrate mental health into primary services

This week on Wellness Wednesdays at Radyo Katipunan, we spotlight women who don’t just break barriers—they change the game.

Join us for a powerful conversation on women game changers and mental health with two remarkable leaders: Dr. Imelda "Emy Villar", The Outstanding Women in the Nation's Service (TOWNS) Awardee for Education (1989), clinical and counseling psychologist, educator, and author—and Usec. Georgina Hernandez Yang, TOWNS Awardee (2025) for Local Governance and Education and Undersecretary for the Social Services Cluster in the Office of the President.

Hosted by Dr. Gina Hechanova and Dr. Camille Yusay of RenewHealth PH, as we explore how women lead with courage, compassion, and purpose—and why that matters for mental health and society.

The invisible load women carry is heavy.

Emotional labor.
Caregiving expectations.
Financial pressure.
Gender bias.
Violence and safety concerns.

Many women are expected to be resilient, without being supported.

Mental health struggles among women are often shaped by systemic realities, not personal weakness.

If we want to improve women’s mental health, we must:
✔ Create supportive school policies
✔ Strengthen workplace mental health systems
✔ Build community-based services
✔ Reduce stigma and silence

RenewHealth partners with institutions to design sustainable mental health programs and policies that protect and empower women.

March is Women’s Month.

Today, we honor the strength of women, but we also acknowledge their unseen load.

Women carry communities.
Women hold families together.
Women show up at work, at school, in caregiving roles, often while quietly managing stress, anxiety, burnout, and trauma.

Mental health is not separate from women’s empowerment. It is foundational to it.

This month, RenewHealth commits to amplifying conversations on women’s mental health - in homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.

Because empowered women need enabling systems.

📩 If you are a school, LGU, workplace, or organization ready to strengthen mental health initiatives and policies, partner with us.

Let’s build safer, healthier spaces... together.

Public Workshop: Mental Health Policies & Programs

We successfully conducted our Public Workshop on Mental Health Policies & Programs with 42 registered participants joining the conversation last Saturday Feb 28 💬

Participants came mostly from NCMH, along with representatives from corporations, colleges, and hospitals, a strong mix of sectors committed to strengthening mental health systems.

It’s encouraging to see professionals actively working toward more responsive, compliant, and people-centered mental health programs.

📅 The second half of the workshop continues on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to meaningful dialogue. Together, we strengthen systems that care for people.
