Did you know? A person living with HIV can share a deep, intimate connection with someone who is HIV‑negative—and not pass on the virus. That’s because Antiretroviral Therapy (ART), when taken consistently, suppresses HIV to undetectable levels. At this point, HIV becomes untransmittable—a principle known as U = U (Undetectable = Untransmittable), or Treatment as Prevention (TasP). Daily adherence to ART not only protects one’s own health, but also ensures the virus cannot be passed on to a partner—even during condomless s*x. With proper treatment and support, people living with HIV can even have HIV‑negative children. U = U is more than medical progress. It is freedom, hope, empowerment, and love. It transforms stigma into strength.
