Barangay Madongo officially kicked off its 2026 health events through the conduct of a Medical Outreach Program on February 27, 2026, in support of the Department of Health’s PuroKalusugan initiative, which aims to bring essential health services closer to the community. The activity highlighted the strong commitment of the Local Government Unit, Municipal Health Office, and Barangay officials in ensuring accessible, equitable, and quality healthcare services for all residents, particularly those in underserved and unserved areas.
Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) sessions were conducted, focusing on key health topics such as Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Cancer prevention, Nutrition, YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program), and the 7 Healthy Habits. These sessions aimed to empower community members with knowledge and promote positive health-seeking behaviors and healthier lifestyle practices.
Health services rendered during the activity included Random Blood Sugar (RBS) and Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) testing, urinalysis as ordered, provision of maintenance medications for hypertension and diabetes mellitus, dispensing of prescribed medicines, as well as general assessment and medical consultations.
The team extends its sincere appreciation to the Sagada LGU and Sagada MHO for their funding and manpower support, and to the Barangay Madongo Community Social Development Team (CSDT) for their initiative in the conduct of the activity. This collaborative effort significantly contributed to the success of the outreach program.
A total of 70 clients were served, composed of 29 males and 41 females.
The team looks forward to more productive partnerships and sustained collaboration in delivering quality health services to the community.
