The Municipal Health Office participated in the Fire Prevention Month Culminating Activity conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection-Sagada on March 24, 2026. The agencies went all out to bring fire safety and other essential skills to Fidelisan Elementary School, despite the accessibility challenges. It's heartwarming to see the community come together to empower the kids with life saving knowledge and services.

The activities were a blast! Hands-on learning experiences like CPR, knot tying, bandaging, fire and road safety games were effective in engaging the kids and making the lessons stick.

Thank you Bureau of Fire Protection-Sagada Fire Station for the partnership and invitation.. twas a truly memorable experience for the school, the community & these kids!

Barangay Madongo officially kicked off its 2026 health events through the conduct of a Medical Outreach Program on February 27, 2026, in support of the Department of Health’s PuroKalusugan initiative, which aims to bring essential health services closer to the community. The activity highlighted the strong commitment of the Local Government Unit, Municipal Health Office, and Barangay officials in ensuring accessible, equitable, and quality healthcare services for all residents, particularly those in underserved and unserved areas.

Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) sessions were conducted, focusing on key health topics such as Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Cancer prevention, Nutrition, YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program), and the 7 Healthy Habits. These sessions aimed to empower community members with knowledge and promote positive health-seeking behaviors and healthier lifestyle practices.

Health services rendered during the activity included Random Blood Sugar (RBS) and Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) testing, urinalysis as ordered, provision of maintenance medications for hypertension and diabetes mellitus, dispensing of prescribed medicines, as well as general assessment and medical consultations.

The team extends its sincere appreciation to the Sagada LGU and Sagada MHO for their funding and manpower support, and to the Barangay Madongo Community Social Development Team (CSDT) for their initiative in the conduct of the activity. This collaborative effort significantly contributed to the success of the outreach program.

A total of 70 clients were served, composed of 29 males and 41 females.

The team looks forward to more productive partnerships and sustained collaboration in delivering quality health services to the community.

Medical Outreach and Cervical Cancer Screening
Tanulong Barangay Health Station | March 18, 2026

The Sagada MHO in its steadfast commitment to promoting public health and accessible medical services, successfully conducted a Medical Outreach Activity at the Tanulong Barangay Health Station (BHS).

This initiative aimed to provide comprehensive medical consultations and specialized screenings to ensure the well-being of our constituents. Through the continued funding and support of the LGU, we remain dedicated to strengthening our community's primary healthcare foundations.

A major focus of this outreach was Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA), an emphasis on Women's Health. This simple yet effective screening is a powerful tool in the early detection and prevention of cervical cancer.

👥Total Consultations: 57 Residents (10 Males, 47 Females)
📝First Patient Encounters (FPE): 26 New records established
🌸Cervical Cancer Screening (VIA): 24 Women

We extend our gratitude to the healthcare professionals, barangay health workers, barangay officials and the MHO staff whose coordination made this outreach possible. Most importantly, we commend the residents of Tanulong for their active participation in prioritizing their health.

From training to transformation…!

Last year, our Barangay Health Workers were trained with the PuroKalusugan Job Guide.

Today, they are applying and utilizing this tool in their own barangays as they deliver key health promotion messages to encourage positive behavior change. Through these SBCC activities, our BHWs continue to grow as effective communicators and champions of health promotion in the communities they serve
