A Successful Two-Day Blood Donation Drive at RSU San Agustin Campus!

Blood donation is one of the most selfless acts of kindness, a simple gesture that can save lives and bring hope to those in need.

A total of 175 generous donors from various blood types successfully donated blood during the two-day drive, contributing to saving countless lives.

The activity was organized by the Health Services Office and graced by the presence of Nurse Christine L. Rada, Dr. Mark John Madrigal, and Nurse Abegail Madali; the Campus Director, Dr. Poly D. Banagan; representatives from the Provincial Health Office, Dr. Renato R. Menrige Jr. and Dr. Deogracias S. Muleta; and the dedicated Red Cross team led by Sir Jimmy Tan.

Be a lifesaver!
Join us for a 2-day blood donation drive organized by Romblon State University and the Philippine Red Cross-Romblon Chapter to help those in need.
Date: November 12-13, 2025 (Wednesday-Thursday)
Venue: RSU- San Agustin
Time: 8:00am-4:00pm
WHO CAN DONATE BLOOD?
You can donate blood if you…
- Are in good health
- Are between 16 to 65 years old (16 and 17 years old need parental consent);
- Weigh at least 110 pounds(50kgs);
- No coughs/colds during the day of the blood donation
- No alcohol intake/smoking within 24hrs
- Have a blood pressure between Systolic: 90-140 mmHg, Diastolic: 60-100 mmHg; and
- Pass the physical and health history assessments by our physician.
-Other qualifications will be assessed upon the physical assessment of our physician.
BENEFITS OF BLOOD DONATION:
1. Improves heart health (REDUCED chances of heart attack and other cardiovascular diseases)
2. REDUCED risk of developing cancer
3. Burn Calories = Approx. 650 calories
4. Includes check-ups from our physicians.
5. Qualitative test for Hemoglobin and Blood Typing
AFTER BLOOD DONATION:
-Rest for 5 to 10 minutes (IMPORTANT and should be followed)
-No strenuous activity such as exercise, lifting of heavy objects etc. (You are advised to rest)
-Drink plenty of water or juices
-Do not drink caffeinated drinks such as soda or teas
-Any untoward symptoms, feel free to reach out to our Blood Services Staff

Romblon State University and all of its satellite campuses are now ISO EOMS certified. TUV Rheinland - Indonesia awarded Romblon State University (RSU) its ISO 21001:2018 Certification for Educational Organization Management Systems for RSU Main Campus and all (08) RSU Satellite Campuses on July 23, 2025.

ISO certification is awarded to educational institutions that have successfully met the criteria and methods for ensuring the quality of deliverables and services.
