The City Health Office, in partnership with the Department of Health, successfully carried out the Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Program focusing on Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening targeting 30 to 65 years old females.

Anchored on the advocacy of women’s health and early detection, the initiative proudly upholds the message: “Babae, Mahalaga Ka.”

Held at the Arenas Resuello Complex in front of the San Carlos City Hall, the activity aimed to deliver accessible and essential women’s healthcare services to Barangay Health Workers and San Carleneans. Participants benefitted from free blood chemistry testing, pap smear, medical consultations, and vital signs screening.

The program was spearheaded by Councilor Dr. George Calugay, together with his wife Ms. Arlene Calugay (Development DMO IV), and strongly supported by Dra. Susan Benitez (City Health Officer II) along with the committed staff of the City Health Office.

Also present was Francisco De Vera, Jr., (Nurse V and NCD Program Manager of DOH–Ilocos CHO I), together with nurses from the National Health Worker Support System (NHWSS) of the Department of Health, who contributed to the smooth and efficient conduct of the healthcare services.

The program was also made possible through the continued support and leadership of City Mayor Julier “Ayoy” C. Resuello and Vice Mayor Renato “Bogs” S. Resuello, whose commitment to accessible healthcare remains vital in delivering quality services to San Carleneans.

This initiative forms part of the city’s continuous efforts to promote preventive healthcare and empower women through timely medical screening and information dissemination.

NCD Program: Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening

The City Health Office, in partnership with DOH, provided free breast and cervical cancer screening, blood chemistry tests, and medical consultations at the Arenas Resuello Complex wherein promoting the advocacy “Babae, Mahalaga Ka” is seen.

With the leadership of our local officials and the support of CHO and DOH teams, San Carlos City continues its commitment to accessible and preventive women’s healthcare.

Dahil sa pinagsamang epekto ng katatapos na Super Typhoon Nando, Habagat, at papalapit na Tropical Storm Opong, nananatiling nasa panganib ang mga lugar na ito sa pagbabaha.

Pinapayuhan ang publiko na maging alerto sa malalang epekto nito. Hangga't maaari, iwasang lumusong sa baha, dahil maaari itong magdulot ng komplikasyon sa atay, bato, at puso dulot ng Leptospirosis.

Kung sakaling malulubog sa baha:
✔️ Agad na maghugas ng katawan gamit ang tubig at sabon
✔️ Agad na kumonsulta sa doktor kung may sugat o kung makararanas ng sintomas tulad ng lagnat at pananakit ng katawan
