The City Health Office, in partnership with the Department of Health, successfully carried out the Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Program focusing on Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening targeting 30 to 65 years old females.
Anchored on the advocacy of womenβs health and early detection, the initiative proudly upholds the message: βBabae, Mahalaga Ka.β
Held at the Arenas Resuello Complex in front of the San Carlos City Hall, the activity aimed to deliver accessible and essential womenβs healthcare services to Barangay Health Workers and San Carleneans. Participants benefitted from free blood chemistry testing, pap smear, medical consultations, and vital signs screening.
The program was spearheaded by Councilor Dr. George Calugay, together with his wife Ms. Arlene Calugay (Development DMO IV), and strongly supported by Dra. Susan Benitez (City Health Officer II) along with the committed staff of the City Health Office.
Also present was Francisco De Vera, Jr., (Nurse V and NCD Program Manager of DOHβIlocos CHO I), together with nurses from the National Health Worker Support System (NHWSS) of the Department of Health, who contributed to the smooth and efficient conduct of the healthcare services.
The program was also made possible through the continued support and leadership of City Mayor Julier βAyoyβ C. Resuello and Vice Mayor Renato βBogsβ S. Resuello, whose commitment to accessible healthcare remains vital in delivering quality services to San Carleneans.
This initiative forms part of the cityβs continuous efforts to promote preventive healthcare and empower women through timely medical screening and information dissemination.
