BAKIT MAHALAGA ANG PAGBABAKUNA?

Ang subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) ay isang sakit sa utak na pangmatagalang komplikasyon ng tigdas.

Isipin mo na ang tigdas ay parang masamang mikrobyo na pumasok sa katawan mo. Kadalasan, kapag gumaling ka na sa tigdas, umaalis na ang mikrobyo.

Pero sa SSPE, may kaunting mikrobyo ng tigdas na nagtatago sa utak. Tahimik lang siya doon sa loob ng maraming taon. Pagdating ng panahon, nagigising ulit ang mikrobyo at sinisira niya ang utak ng bata. Karamihan ng mga pasyenteng may SSPE ay namamatay.

Ang batang ito ay nagkaroon ng tigdas sa edad na 7 months, edad na hindi pa sya handang mabakunahan ng kontra tigdas (edad 9 buwan kung walang epidemya sa komunidad). Kung yung batang nakahawa sa kanya ay nabakunahan sana, maiiwasan sana ang impeksyon na ito.

Pumunta lamang po sa pinakamalapit na health center o sa clinic kung gusto magpabakuna kontra measles, para sa mga batang edad 9 buwan at 1 taon. Bigyan natin ang mga bata ng tsansa mabuhay nang malusog at iwas sa mga sakit katulad ng tigdas. 💉

A 7-year-old boy was brought to a hospital with a 3-month history of cognitive deterioration and seizures. He had contracted measles at 7 months of age while living in an area where the infection is endemic.

DEPRESSION IS REAL.

The children are not weak, mas open na nga lang ang society ngayon towards depression. Well apparently, not for some, but I believe people nowadays are more understanding regarding mental health struggles.

Let’s talk and catch-up with our kids today! Kamustahin natin sila at iparamdam na lagi tayong nandyan for them. 🫂🫂🫂

NAKAMAMATAY ANG MEASLES (TIGDAS)!

Sa aking experience bilang isang pediatrician, maraming bata na ang aking na-handle na nagkaroon ng tigdas.

Sa kasamaang palad, ilan sa mga batang ito ay nagkaroon ng malubhang mga komplikasyon, at iba sa mga batang ito ay pumanaw na. Karamihan ay mga hindi bakunado, at ang iba, masyado pang bata para mabakunahan kontra dito.

Ang kanilang mga maliwanag na kinabukasan, nawakasan ng isang sakit na maaari namang maiwasan.

Pabakunahan na ang inyong mga anak, mula edad 9 buwan pataas. Sa mga lugar na may epidemya ng measles, maaari itong ibigay nang mas maaga pa dito (kadalasan 6 buwan pataas).

Wag nating ipagkait sa mga bata ang magandang kinabukasan. Wakasan na natin ang tigdas!
