TRC-LU Stands United for a VAW-Free Philippines

In a vibrant display of solidarity, the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center La Union (TRC-LU) actively participated in the nationwide celebration of VAW Free PH (Violence Against Women-Free Philippines). The day was filled with educational and empowering activities designed to raise awareness and foster a commitment to ending violence against women.

The event kicked off with a thought-provoking screening of a VAW documentary, providing valuable insights into the realities and impact of gender-based violence. Following the film, participants engaged in a symbolic hand-painting activity, leaving their colorful handprints as a visual pledge of support and a promise to stand against VAW.

To promote well-being and camaraderie, an energizing Orange Wellness Zumba session got everyone moving and grooving. The day concluded with a heartfelt "Kamustahan Session" within the female dormitory, creating a safe space for open dialogue, sharing experiences, and strengthening bonds of support among the residents.

TRC-LU's multifaceted approach to celebrating VAW Free PH underscores its dedication to creating a community where women are safe, respected, and empowered.

The Treatment and Rehabilitation Center - La Union (TRC-LU) joins the province in mourning the passing of former Governor Manuel โ€œManolingโ€ Ortega.
His vision and dedication were instrumental in the creation of TRC-LU, an initiative born from his desire to provide hope, healing, and a humane response to the drug problem in La Union.

Through his leadership, the project found direction, support, and eventually a permanent home with the Department of Health. Today, every life restored and every family given a second chance stands as a testament to his legacy.

Thank you, Gov. Manoling, for laying the foundation of our mission.

May you rest in God's eternal peace. ๐Ÿค
