Ipinagdiwang ng mga nars sa Treatment and Rehabilitation Center La Union (TRC-LU) ang Nurses Week na may temang "The Power of Nurse." Kinilala sa linggong ito ang mahalagang ambag ng mga nars sa pangangalaga ng mga pasyente, na nagpapakita ng kanilang dedikasyon, malasakit, at walang sawang paglilingkod sa komunidad.

During the second day of the Province-wide Consultative Workshop on the Assessment of the La Union HCPN Referral System, participants actively engaged in group workshops focused on enhancing the referral process and strengthening the coordination of health services across districts.

Representing the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center-La Union (TRC-LU), Dr. Brendell Fabia, Chief Health Program Officer, presented the group’s output entitled “La Union Baseline Service Capability Mapping for Treatment and Rehabilitative Care". The presentation highlighted strategies to improve existing referral tools and processes, ensuring a more responsive, efficient, and integrated health care delivery system for PWUDs within the province.

Strengthening Health Systems through Collaboration!

The Provincial Health Office of La Union conducted the Province-wide Consultative Workshop on the Assessment of the La Union Health Care Provider Network (LU-HCPN) Referral System and the Development of the Second Edition of the LU-HCPN Referral Handbook, held on October 27–28, 2025, at Ynad’s Place Hotel & Resort, San Fernando City, La Union.

Among the resource speakers was Dr. Marvin F. Munar, Chief of Hospital III of the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center – La Union, who discussed the Integration of the Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DATRC) within the LU-HCPN. It emphasized the objectives on service capability mapping, PWUD intake services, PWUD navigation and referral, primary care- based coordination and other network-wide requirements.

Together, we continue to build a health-based approach among our PWUDs across the care continuum.

TRC-La Union Reinforces Governance Excellence through PGS Spot Audit!

The Treatment and Rehabilitation Center-La Union (TRC-LU) continues to advance its commitment to good governance through the Performance Governance System (PGS) Compliance Spot Audit on October 23, 2025.

The audit featured strategic assessments of selected sections and a focus group discussion with the Office of the Strategic Management (OSM). These sessions aimed to validate TRC-LU’s governance progress and strengthen the OSM capacity in strategy monitoring, performance evaluation, and process coaching.

This milestone marks another step forward in TRC-LU’s journey toward achieving an improved level of governance maturity and organizational excellence.

October 22,2025- The Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) conducted a Spot Audit to assess the Center’s progress in strategy ex*****on and validate the maturity of its governance systems in alignment with the Performance Governance System (PGS) Compliance Stage parameters.

The activity included key interviews with the Chief of Hospital III, Dr. Marvin F. Munar and the OSM Head, Ms. Susielyn L. Almazan as well as focus group discussions with the Multisectoral Governance Council (MSGC) and the PGS Core Team, reaffirming TRC-La Union’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and strategic excellence.

Empowering Leaders in La Union's Treatment and Rehabilitation Efforts: CSC RO1's Supervisory Development Course

La Union – employees from the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (TRC) in La Union participated in the Supervisory Development Course (SDC) Track 1, themed "The New Supervisor: Making A Difference," held at the J&V Hotel from October 14-17, 2025. The Civil Service Commission Regional Office 1 (CSC RO1), led by Director IV Hedy Jose B. Lardizabal, facilitated this program to enhance the leadership and supervisory skills of TRC personnel.

The course concluded with participants expressing a renewed dedication to their roles and a deeper understanding of their potential impact. The CSC RO1's commitment to continuous learning ensures a skilled and motivated workforce dedicated to serving the community and supporting the rehabilitation of individuals in La Union.

TRC-LU Hosts Key DOH Officials to Advance Dental and Nursing Care

The Treatment and Rehabilitation - La Union (TRC-LU) welcomed Undersecretary Emmie Liza "Molly" Chiong, focusing on dental concerns, and Undersecretary Farwa M. Hombre, specializing in the Nursing Care system, for an inter-professional highlight visit. The visit was also graced by the presence of Regional Director Paula Paz Sydiongco and ITRMC Medical Center Chief Dr. Eduardo M. Badua.

The visit aimed to provide the Undersecretaries with firsthand insights into TRC-LU's operations and its role in providing essential healthcare services to the community, particularly in the areas of dental health and nursing care.

The visit is expected to pave the way for further collaboration and support to strengthen TRC-LU's capacity in providing quality dental and nursing care services to the people of La Union and the surrounding regions.
