WASMI SPOTLIGHTS OF THE WEEK

The Wallace Air Station Medical Infirmary (WASMI) stands firm in its mission to promote health, safety, and excellent services among military and civilian personnel of Wallace Air Station and this week brought notable recognition and impactful action.

This week’s activities reflect WASMI's dedication to both preventive and responsive care, highlighted by receiving the Best Safety Squadron Award for the 3rd Quarter CY 2025 during the Safety Standown. The team also conducted a critical lecture on Psychological Safety for Mission Continuity to strengthen operational resilience, delivered life-saving Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid training to 580th ACWW Personnel, and carried out a Sanitary and Dengue Inspection to safeguard community well-being.

Through these collective efforts, WASMI upholds its mission to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and reliable care — all while setting a strong example for safety and readiness for all.

WASMI JOINS THE GLOBAL OBSERVANCE OF WOLRD AIDS DAY

In recognition of World AIDS Day on December 1, 2025, WASMI personnel disseminated HIV Information, Education, and Communication materials and presented HIV awareness videos to the personnel of 580th Aircraft Control and Warning Wing, PAF during their lecture on Basic Life Support Training with Automated External Defribillator at Multi-Purpose Hall, Wallace Air Station, to underscore the importance of education, early detection, and sustained advocacy.

This initiative reaffirms WASMI's dedication in promoting health safety and public awareness to the military and authorized civilian personnel of Wallace Air Station .

WASMI SPOTLIGHTS OF THE WEEK

The Wallace Air Station Medical Infirmary (WASMI) has wrapped up a transformative set of accomplishments that strengthened its ability to serve military and civilian personnel.

Key accomplishments included: pinning the prestigious Chief of Staff Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP) Commendation Medal and Ribbon for outstanding WASMI personnel during a Simultaneous Hospital Visit and Gift-Giving of CSAFP in connection with the 90th Founding Anniversary of the AFP; conducting in-house trainings on EENT care and vital signs monitoring, while Nursing Service personnel attended Basic Emergency Care and Train-the-Trainer sessions to strengthen team capabilities; participating in specialized programs on crisis hotline response, pollution control, and HIV awareness to expand expertise; facilitating PFT clearances for the 548th ECB, PA and TOG 1 — with on-site medical support for the latter; delivering impactful mental health lectures to both 585th ABG and 580th ACWW personnel; providing standby medical team during the Sanay Bagwis Exercise at CERAB; and receiving vital medical supply donations from the International Committee of the Red Cross to enhance service delivery.

These efforts demonstrate WASMI's unwavering commitment to delivering well-rounded, accessible, and high-quality care to the WAS community.

9TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY OF WASMI AND 1305TH DENTAL DISPENSARY

The Wallace Air Station Medical Infirmary (WASMI) and 1305th Dental Dispensary (DD) celebrated their 9th Founding Anniversary with the theme: “Honoring 9 Years of Excellent Healthcare Services in Medical and Dental – Focus on Care and Compassion Across Borders" on October 24, 2025 at Multipurpose Hall, Wallace Air Station.

The event began with the welcome remarks of Major Mary Grace C. Tabajen Dental Service, Executive Officer of 1305th DD, followed by the Awarding of Outstanding Personnel, honoring those who exemplify in service, excellence and dedication.

- Airman First Class Mon-Risrael D. Gonzales Philippine Air Force – Airman of the Year, 1305th DD
- Dr. Vanessa Cris D. Blancaflor, Civilian Human Resource– Civilian Human Resource of the Year, WASMI

Plaques of recognition were also awarded to their valued stakeholders and partners, whose unwavering support fuels their mission of quality healthcare delivery:

(AMWSLAI) La Union Branch, Composite Wing Savings and Loan Association, Inc. - CWSLAI (CWSLAI) La Union Branch, DOH Ilocos Region Department of Health Ilocos Center for Health Development, DSWD - Home for Girls San Nicholas West, Agoo, La Union, Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC), Lorma Medical Center, Mercury Drug – Quezon Branch, PhilHealth Ilocos - 1 Region – La Union , and SFC Dialysis Center and Diagnostics.

The event was graced by the Guest of Honor, Colonel Jonathan J. Inocando Philippine Air Force (PAF) General Staff Corps (GSC) who was introduced by the Commanding Officer of WASMI, Lieutenant Colonel Wilfredo S. Abulencia Medical Corps (MC), who shared inspiring words on the true essence of collaboration in healthcare service.

Colonel Inocando PAF GSC emphasized that throughout the years, WASMI and 1305th DD have accomplished so much which was a meaningful reminder of how far they have come through their dedication, compassion, and teamwork.

His message inspired everyone to look back with pride and move forward with renewed purpose — to continue serving with the same passion and unity that have defined their years of excellence.

Together, WASMI and the 1305th Dental Dispensary continue to serve with care, compassion, and unity beyond borders.
