In early April, one of the two elevators in our facility stopped working. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by our elevator issue and we understand how important a fully functioning elevator is especially for our patients, seniors, and visitors with mobility challenges.
Our elevator has undergone multiple repairs and overhauls in the past. Due to continued performance issues and unsatisfactory service, we made the decision to terminate our previous maintenance provider. We have since engaged a new contractor and signed a service agreement last week to restore the elevator to optimal, near-new condition.
The repair work will begin as soon as the required parts arrive, which are currently being sourced from overseas. We are closely monitoring this to ensure completion as quickly as possible.
To address the continuing concerns of our visitors, in the meanwhile, the hospital stays committed to providing alternative means to traverse the facilities including existing ramps, walkable stairs, and concierge services for those in need.
In the meantime, VL Makabali Memorial Hospital remains fully operational. For patients and visitors who need assistance, our transport personnel are available to safely help with mobility within the hospital.
