Yesterday, February 4—World Cancer Day, we stood behind one message: “United by Team: Strengthening the Local Cancer Network.” Because in cancer care, no one wins alone.
During the event, Dr. Arthur Jason Go, President of the Philippine Society of Oncologists (PSO) and Medical Oncologist at OncoCare Philippines, reaffirmed a shared vision: every Filipino with cancer deserves compassionate, timely, quality care, regardless of location or socio-economic status.
Guided by the UICC World Cancer Declaration 2025–2035, he highlighted the goals we must work toward: reduce cancer deaths and risk factors, diagnose more cancers early, improve access to essential medicines and diagnostics, and strengthen universal health coverage for cancer services. These are big targets, but achievable if we act as one team.
Dr. Go also grounded it in what this means for the Philippines: stronger referral pathways, empowered regional cancer centers, tighter links between primary care and specialists, and real collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, government, advocates, and communities. These are not just slogans, but systems that reach people where they are.
For OncoCare Philippines, this is our everyday work: evidence-based care with humanity, reaching beyond clinic walls. Because cancer care is patient care, family care, community care, and nation care. Together, we move forward as one team, one commitment for every Filipino with cancer.
