Day 3 and the Final Day of the Barangay Nutrition Scholar Refresher Course

The refresher course concluded with interactive workshops, discussions, and action planning to strengthen community-based nutrition programs aligned with the initiatives of the National Nutrition Council. This activity was implemented by the PMNP staff, ensuring smooth coordination and effective delivery.

The Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC) meeting was successfully conducted at Barangay Tapon Norte, bringing together key officials and community leaders committed to improving local health and nutrition outcomes.

In attendance were Barangay Captain Edmar Renacia, Council on Health Joan Tubac, and the rest of the Barangay Council. The meeting was also joined by leaders of various community organizations, demonstrating a strong collaborative effort toward achieving better nutrition and health services for all.

Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Walfe Ulla presented the OPT (Operation Timbang) reports, highlighting current data and concerns, particularly the rising rate of malnutrition, including cases of stunting among children.

The BNC Council, together with the health staff, engaged in a productive discussion on strengthening and adopting policies focused on maternal and child care services. These initiatives aim to enhance service delivery, improve early intervention, and ensure sustainable strategies to combat malnutrition in the community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and generously shared their insights and recommendations in addressing these critical issues. Special thanks as well to our Municipal Mayor, Mel Nick S. Logronio, for his unwavering dedication and continued support in advancing health and nutrition programs in our municipality.

The BNC Meeting at Barangay Cambaloctot was successfully conducted in the presence of Barangay Chair Valente R. Talorete and the Barangay Council.

We discussed the importance of completing the 8 Antenatal Care (8ANC) visits (from the previous 4ANC) and strengthening the promotion of Exclusive Breastfeeding (EBF) to ensure healthier mothers and children in our community. Our assigned midwife, Madel Bulagao, also presented the Operation Timbang (OPT) report, identifying stunting as the primary concern in the Barangay.

The council further discussed policies to enhance maternal and child care services as part of our commitment to improving community health.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion. Special thanks to our dedicated Municipal Mayor, Atty. Mel Nick S. Logronio, for his unwavering support in the implementation of our programs.
