What are YAKAP & GAMOT
• YAKAP stands for Yaman ng Kalusugan — PhilHealth’s expanded health package combining Konsulta, medicines, screenings, diagnostics etc. 
• GAMOT is a component of YAKAP: free outpatient medicines (75 essential drugs) worth up to ₱20,000/year for each beneficiary.

Steps to Register & Avail GAMOT under YAKAP

Below are the steps to (a) register under YAKAP, (b) visit a YAKAP clinic, (c) get prescription from GAMOT, and (d) claim medicines.

Step 1: Pre-Registration / Choose YAKAP Clinic
1. Get a PhilHealth Identification Number (PIN)
If you’re already a PhilHealth member, ensure you have your PIN. If not, you need to acquire one. 
2. Pick a YAKAP Clinic of your choice
There are many YAKAP-accredited clinics all over the country. You can check clinics via the PhilHealth YAKAP website. 
3. Register as a YAKAP member
You can do this in any of these ways:
• Through the eGovPH App 
• Through the PhilHealth Member Portal 
• Directly at any PhilHealth office nationwide 
• Directly at your chosen YAKAP Clinic 
4. Make sure your records are updated
Having accurate personal data (name, address, contact) helps avoid complications.

Step 2: Visit the YAKAP Clinic / Medical Assessment
5. Go to the YAKAP Clinic you registered with
• Undergo a medical assessment by the primary care doctor. This could involve routine check-ups, examinations, or diagnostic tests if needed. 
• During this visit, if it is medically necessary, the doctor will issue a GAMOT prescription slip with a Unique Prescription Security Code (UPSC).

Step 3: Get Your Medicines (GAMOT)
6. Claim your medicine at a GAMOT Facility
• Bring the GAMOT prescription slip (with the UPSC) from your YAKAP doctor. 
• Also bring a valid government-issued ID. 
• Go to the nearest accredited GAMOT facility / pharmacy. Present the prescription + ID. 
7. Receive your medicines up to the limit
• The benefit allows you to get medicines (from the 75 essential drugs list) worth up to ₱20,000 per year. 
• The medicines must be from the GAMOT list. If your required drug is not on the list, it might not be covered.

Step 4: Other Important Notes & Tips
• The clinic you register with should be accredited under YAKAP. Not all health facilities are yet. 
• The GAMOT facility (the pharmacy/drugstore) should also be accredited. Check the list of accredited GAMOT providers. 
• Keep copies of your prescription, your ID, and proof of membership to avoid delays.
• Be aware of the ailments / medicines covered — the list is fixed (there are 75 essential medicines).

Alam mo ba?

Yung critical illness insurance ay ginawa ng isang doctor? Ito ay hindi dahil sa mamatay ka kundi para mabuhay ka.

Napansin ni Dr. Marius Barnard na nagagamot nga n'ya ang mga may sakit ng pisikal pero napansin n'ya na nagpapalubha pa ng sakit yung dulot na problema ng mga pasyente dahil sa kakulangan ng pera pampagamot?

Dear friends, make Life Insurance a priority. It's almost common for a lot of Filipinos to insure their car, house even gadgets like phones. No stigma, no questions, no hesitations.

But when Financial Planners try to offer life insurance? “Pass. Masyado pa akong bata. Hindi ko pa need yan. Hindi ko priority yan.”

But if we really take a closer look, Insurance, regardless kung para saan yan, protects you from risks and uncertainties. The higher the risk, the more you need to get one. So balik tayo sa mga common na kinukuhanan mo ng insurance:
