Bucket handle tear of the meniscus (shock absorber) is described as a difficult injury to treat. Since it is a complex tear causing total displacement of the meniscus.

But every effort to repair this is worth the effort.

Based on to the literature:

Repair of a chronic bucket-handle meniscal tears can lead to a good clinical outcomes with a relatively low (17%) failure rate.

Proper repair of this type of tear is particularly important, as failure can lead to total or subtotal loss of meniscal function.
