Ilocos Eye Center shares this official update to recognize the strong support and collaboration of our national and local government partners as we work together to expand access to quality eye care services in Northern Luzonโconsistent with the goals of Universal Health Care (UHC) and the promotion of public-private partnership (PPP).
๐ธ The photos in this post were taken during the Ilocos Eye Center Blessing and Grand Opening.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the leaders and representatives who visited and expressed support for strengthened eye health services in the region:
โข Mayor Edmar Bonoan of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte
โข Vice Mayor Fredelino Agpuldo of Claveria
โข Dr. Medel Gaoat, Province of Ilocos Norte Board Member representing Governor Cecilia Marcos, Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte
โข Dr. Pretchell Tolentino, OIC Regional Director, Department of Health โ Ilocos Region
โข Dr. Glenn Baggao, Undersecretary of Health, Lead for Universal Health Care, Health Services Cluster for North, Central and South Luzon, representing Health Secretary Dr. Teodoro Herbosa
While Ilocos Eye Center is a private facility, our purpose is public in impact: to support the health system by providing safe, accessible, and patient-centered eye careโand to help ensure that communities, especially those outside major cities, can access quality services without unnecessary delays and travel burdens.
Why this matters: Preventable and treatable vision problems affect not only the patient, but also family members who become caregivers. When vision is protected or restored, people can return to work and school, regain independence, and improve overall quality of lifeโsupporting broader community productivity and well-being.
In alignment with UHC priorities, our shared direction with government partners is to strengthen eye care access through coordinated initiatives such as:
โ
Accessible consultations and comprehensive diagnostics for early detection
โ
Timely management of common eye conditions to prevent avoidable blindness
โ
Clear referral pathways for patients who require specialized or advanced care
โ
Community-based eye health promotion, screening, and outreach, as coordinated with LGUs and partner agencies
Ilocos Eye Center remains committed to responsible partnership, standards-based care, and transparent coordination with the Department of Health and LGUsโguided by our service principles of competence, compassion, and ethics.
We look forward to sustained collaboration with our national and local government partners in building stronger, more inclusive health servicesโso that quality eye care is truly within reach for more Filipinos.
Maraming salamat po for your continued trust and partnership. ๐ค๐๏ธโจ
