Brutally Honest Food Reviews

Brutally Honest Food Reviews I taste food and give honest reviews. There is only one rule: If I like the food, I tell people where to find it.

If not, you'll only see a brutally honest review and never know its origin.

If you're in or around Macaria, come to this car wash right in front of a well-known but not-so-delicious roasted liempo/chicken franchise. Two local brands have opened today and being the foodie that I am, I already tried them.

Chef Bad'S is a tiny wooden stall with homey aesthetics, and their food is distinctly Filipino as well. Some of the items on their menu are puting adobosilog and bacsilog, with their very own cream sauce blend. They may not be as well-known as a certain Taft-famous name, but they are well on their way.

IcaCess SanChai Tea and Fries Corner, on the other hand, has surpassed standards and definitely brought the tea in milk tea. Their blend is just a tad too sweet for my taste, but the tea is there, and it's there to stay. Their rock salt cheese foam is TO DIE FOR.

See you here? Or not. This brutally honest foodie will always be anonymous. XOXO! 😘

I didn't realize we already hit 100 likes! Let's get to 500 👍👍👍 and the 500th liker wins something. G?

Also, what's the best local pizza in town? Any recos? No to pizza places like Dominos, Pizza Hut, Shakey's, etc.

So the other day I ordered from FoodPanda, and it was from a place which almost had the same name as FoodPanda. I think it's somewhere in Olympia. Well, anyway, I ordered sisigsilog, spamsilog, and tocilog, but their food was totally blah. I mean, their rice wouldn't even be considered as one full cup of rice. Less bang for less buck, I guess.

What's your most recommended silog place in and around San Pedro?

I asked, and one of these two shawarma places definitely delivered.

Let me start with a little story. Lunch was running a little late today, so I decided to go out and get shawarma. This one stall along Macaria Ave had shawarma rice, so I ordered one. However, UGH. The rice was cold and the paper tub was defective, so sauce was leaking out the bottom. The plastic spoon provided also bent out of my will, which made eating harder. The veggies were counted out (I was there when it was prepared) and the garlic sauce was bland. Eww, right?

But then, a new stall opened just now, so I ordered shawarma rice again. Boyyyyy, the shawarma gods heard my prayers. This one was packed to the brim with veggies and beef, and the rice was warm and sticky enough to hold a bite together.
The packaging was nice too. I got one order worth P55 pesos, while the other one I ordered earlier was half of the quantity at P65. This one is more bang for my buck.

Today's their soft opening here at Macaria, near Las Villas, so even if it's raining, make sure to come and get your fill of Shawarma Time - South. See ya! Or not. This gossip girl will always be anonymous. 😉

Thoroughly excited for an opening today near Las Villas. Just finished reviewing one shawarma place near here. Check back later. 😉🥙

Okay, so you're all sure you want brutally honest reviews? Alright, here's one. There's this place in Los Baños which just started out this year, and they've been selling all my favorite food. Imagine smoky meat, fried chicken, pork chops, all the great greasy stuff you could ever imagine; and they have it. Plus, they have mojos! Ugh. I just wish I lived in Los Baños so I could have it everyday!

Now if you're in the area, hit this page up for some good ol' meat time: Highway Grill House. I tell you, it's a meat lover's wet dream come true. 😉

Anyone who uses real fruit in their drink selection deserves props, yes? This Taiwanese tea place that hails from Biñan does so, and as I sipped their ultra-milky strawberry tea, I died and went to heaven.

No, silly, of course not. I still have to write a review.

So there you have it, the milk/tea place to top all others, JinYu Taiwan Tea - South City Biñan

Mind you, this is not a paid advertisement. I don't do that influencer s**t. 😉

(Props to the owner for sending me one drink from their secret menu)

I'm feeling hyped up!

For the past few weeks, I've been taste-testing milk tea after milk tea in and around Pacita, and I still haven't found that one particular tea that quite matches my preferences. Tonight, I'll be testing one from Biñan. Check back with all of you tonight! 😉

Happy Thursday! Any food/drink you'd like me to be brutally honest about? 😉

Here's the deal. I taste food in and around the South. If it's good, I will promote the food here. If not, I will not post any details as to the origin of the food. However, if you consider yourself eagle-eyed, you may spot a few details. It's up to you whether you trace those details back to the source.

No biases. No filters. Just the truth.
