About IWT 1st 10k Steps to Health (Oct. 17, 2025)

Hello IWT Walkers,

What an inspiring achievement we’ve shared! A heartfelt thank you to each of you for joining our first 10K Steps to Health Challenge and demonstrating such incredible dedication to community wellness. Your presence and enthusiasm transformed this initiative into a resounding success, with nearly every participant completing 107 laps around the P7A basketball court in just 90 minutes—a remarkable feat!

This milestone is more than a number—it’s a testament to our collective commitment to prioritizing health as we embrace the opportunities of later life. By making this challenge a permanent monthly feature (scheduled for the end of every month), we’re ensuring sustained benefits like improved cardiovascular health, strengthened social bonds, and enhanced vitality for all.

Words cannot fully express my gratitude for your unwavering support of this program. Whether you walked every step, cheered others on, or simply showed up with enthusiasm, your contribution matters deeply. Let’s carry this momentum forward, proving that age is no barrier to active, purposeful living.

Together, we’re not just counting steps—we’re building a healthier, more connected community. Keep walking, keep thriving, and let’s continue reaping the rewards of this shared journey.

Interval Walking Training Inaugural Walk: A Promising Start

The first Interval Walking Training (IWT) session successfully launched this morning, September 9, 2025, at the Phase 7A covered court.

The event commenced with an invocation by Bro. Cesar Inumerable, setting a tone of safety and well-being. Phase Chairman Eric Lindo followed with welcoming remarks, acknowledging the participants of the inaugural walk.

Organizers distributed pedometer step counters to track participants' progress. However, the devices required vigorous shaking to record steps, prompting an adjustment suggested by warm-up coach Stan: attaching them to shoelaces.

Twelve registered IWT walkers participated in the inaugural session, beginning with a 5-minute warm-up led by Coach Stan, followed by a 30-minute interval walking session. Participants was guided by an interval timer to maintain pace. Bro. Cesar recorded 23 laps around the court during the 30-minute session.

Post-walk, attendees enjoyed pandesal, hard-boiled eggs, and coffee, with hot and cold water provided by Tubig-ann. An informal meeting led to an agreement on a weekly fee of P50.00 to cover breakfast and incidental costs for future sessions.
