Sight is precious- and often taken for granted. This Sight Saving Month, we are reminded of the importance of preventing avoidable blindness and promoting eye health, especially among children and persons with disabilities.
Here are 5 simple tips to help protect your eyes:
๐ 1. Wear protective eyewear when outdoors or doing activities that could harm your eyes.
๐ฅฆ 2. Eat a healthy diet rich in Vitamin A (carrots, leafy greens, sweet potatoes).
๐ง 3. Take screen breaks, follow the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
๐ฉบ 4. Get regular eye checkups, especially for children and elderly loved ones.
๐ 5. Avoid rubbing your eyes and always wash your hands before touching them.
